NO TE Josh Hill - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Cardinals

Despite Jared Cook not playing, Hill still only saw three targets against the Bears. The good news is he caught all three of his targets and turned one into a touchdown. And the even better news is that the Cardinals are giving up the most points per game to opposing tight ends this season, so the opportunity is there for Hill to score another touchdown with Cook questionable at best for Sunday.

NO TE Josh Hill Divisional Round Fantasy Football Outlook

Divisional Round at Minnesota Vikings

Josh Hill caught 3-of-4 targets for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' Wild Card win over the Panthers last Sunday. Hill caught just 16 passes in the regular season but with Carolina shutting down New Orleans' rushing attack, the Saints had to move the ball mostly through the air. Don't expect much production out of Hill this weekend, however. Ranked as our No. 9 TE for the Divisional Round, Hill will face Minnesota's No. 2 ranked defense against tight ends. Avoid him.

NO TE Josh Hill - 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Josh Hill caught 16 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns on 30 targets last season for the Saints. The team signed Coby Fleener in free agency but if the former Colt were to suffer an injury, Hill would be first in line for starter reps at tight end. The Saints matched the Bears' offer for Hill in March, re-signing the restricted free agent to a three-year contract. Despite limited cap space, New Orleans still brought Hill back so clearly the team values his services.

Fantasy Downside
Hill was considered a sleeper heading into last season but wound up being a fantasy bust. He was overshadowed by Ben Watson last year and will now take a backseat to Fleener in 2016. Fleener would have to suffer an injury for Hill to be relevant in fantasy.

2016 Bottom Line
Ranked as our TE49, Hill is going undrafted this year. Avoid him on draft night but if Fleener suffers an injury, be aware that Hill would be a coveted waiver wire pickup.

NO TE Josh Hill - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Indianapolis
Josh Hill caught 3-of-5 targets for 38 yards in the Saints Week 6 win over the Falcons. Hill played on 51 percent of New Orleans' offensive snaps, which was a season-high for the backup tight end. But with Ben Watson going off for 127 yards and a touchdown on 10 catches, Hill's role won't increase any time soon. Leave him on your waiver wire.
