Scouting report

CAR WR Jonathan Mingo - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Green Bay Packers

Jonathan Mingo keeps showing little flashes of brilliance in this struggling Carolina offense - including a great 20-yard sideline catch last week against the Falcons - but the fantasy numbers just haven’t been there. Stash his name in mind for next season as a deep sleeper/stash option, but he should remain on waivers in most fantasy leagues for now.

CAR WR Jonathan Mingo - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at New Orleans Saints

Jonathan Mingo doesn’t have eye-popping numbers, but he caught six balls for 69 yards last week against the Buccaneers. It was his second consecutive game with at least 60 yards, and he had double-digit targets for the first time in his young career. Mingo now has 29 targets over his last four games - just one fewer than Adam Thielen over that stretch.

This week, Mingo faces a New Orleans defense that ranks fifth in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. It’s hard to trust the Carolina offense to do anything consistently, but Mingo might be worth adding to deeper rosters in case he can keep racking up targets. Fantasy managers should consider him a desperation WR3 option at best, but keep an eye on him moving forward.

CAR WR Jonathan Mingo - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Indianapolis Colts

Jonathan Mingo caught four balls for 62 yards last week in a victory over the Texans. Mingo isn’t producing big fantasy points, but when healthy, he’s showing subtle signs of improvement. Most importantly, he’s on the field a ton! He earned 99% of the offensive snaps last week and seems to have locked down an outside receiver role on the team.

Even in a great matchup against the Colts, it’s hard to trust the rookie, given the struggles of the Carolina offense in general and just how much rookie Bryce Young keys in on Adam Thielen. Roster Mingo as the offense continues to improve, and keep an eye on whether the targets start to follow the snap count, but be cautious with him. Sit him this week.

CAR WR Jonathan Mingo - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Atlanta Falcons

Jonathan Mingo is far from a sure thing this week, but he faces a Falcons defense that ranked 25th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers last year and the three players ahead of him on the depth chart are all hobbled and questionable for the first game of the season. If two of Adam Thielen (ankle), D.J. Chark (hamstring), and Terrace Marshall (back) miss the game, Mingo could be worth a gamble as a WR3 in deeper formats.
