Scouting report

BUF WR Gabe Davis - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Cincinnati Bengals
Gabe Davis continues to be average although he scored his seventh touchdown of the season. He has averaged only three catches per game over the past month and his yardage-high over that time period was 56.

Davis faces the Bengals who are ranked 30th in aFPA to wide receivers. It could be a big night for the offenses this Monday, but we still don't see big numbers from Davis.

Davis still has some fantasy value for Week 17 but only as a low-end WR3 or Flex. His owners have been waiting to that breakout game, but it just hasn't happened since Week 5 for him.

BUF WR Gabe Davis - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Chicago Bears
Gabe Davis has been consistent with his targets as last Saturday he received six. It produced four receptions for 56 yards. He remains a big part of the Bills passing game but those numbers seem to be the ceiling for him this season. Just not a lot of big games despite his role as the No. 2 receiver for a high-powered passing game.

Davis faces the Bears who are ranked 19th in aFPA to wide receivers. We expect similar numbers to last week so start Davis as a WR3 or Flex for Week 16. Don't expect much but enough to be a factor.

BUF WR Gabe Davis - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Miami Dolphins
Another game for Gabe Davis where he struggled to produce fantasy numbers. He ended up with only three receptions for 31 yards. In his last seven games, he has had less than 40 receiving yards. Not what we expected from the No. 2 receiver in a very proficient passing game.

Davis faces the Dolphins who are ranked 12th in aFPA to wide receivers. The Bills played the Miami Dolphins in South Florida in September and he had three receptions for 37 yards.

If you have better options, keep Davis on the bench. He doesn't even reach the WR3 or Flex ranking for Week 15.

BUF WR Gabe Davis - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. New York Jets
Gabe Davis continues to befuddle fantasy managers with games like last week. He had only two receptions for 15 yards which doesn't make much sense as the No. 2 receiver in a high-powered offense like Buffalo.

Davis faces the Jets who have the No. 1 ranking in aFPA to wide receivers. He had two receptions for 31 yards in the first meeting with New York this season. Davis just hasn't had enough big games this season to justify his preseason hype. Start him as a WR3 or Flex for Week 14.

BUF WR Gabe Davis - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at New England Patriots
It has been a confusing season for Gabe Davis managers as you just don't know which fantasy receiver you are going to get. Last week, QB Josh Allen turned to Isaiah McKenzie which left Davis with only four receptions for 38 yards. It's risky to leave him out of the lineup because he is capable of having big games in the Bills offense, but you are getting these stinkers as well.

Davis faces the Patriots for the first time this season. He had two touchdown receptions in the two games he played against them last season, although the other numbers were average at best.

Start Davis as a WR3 or Flex for Week 13. The New England defense hasn't been great against the pass, but Davis is a tossup every week to which direction he is going to go.

BUF WR Gabe Davis - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Detroit Lions
In a game where the Bills relied more on the running game, Gabe Davis still put up good numbers. He caught five passes for 68 yards and was the most targeted Buffalo player for the game. Davis has been playing well and his fantasy stock has risen over the past month.

Next up are the Lions who are ranked 29th in aFPA to wide receivers. This is a great matchup for the Buffalo passing game so we expect better numbers overall.

Start Davis as a high-end WR2 for Week 12. He actually might get you WR1 numbers if the targets go his way.

BUF WR Gabe Davis - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Cleveland Browns
Gabe Davis had a season-high 10 targets against the Vikings last week. It also produced a season-high six receptions and his second-highest receiving-yard total of the season. Davis also scored his fifth touchdown of the season. These numbers are great, but are probably what most managers were expecting from him on a regular basis in the Bills offense this season.

Buffalo faces Cleveland who is ranked 18th in aFPA to wide receivers. So, with a slightly favorable matchup at home, we like Davis to have another solid game this week. Start him as a solid WR2 for Week 11 although he could reach his numbers from last week if he gets double-digit targets again.
