BUF RB Fred Jackson - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13: Jackson vs Browns

Although he only had 13 touches against the Jets last week, Fred Jackson is finally beginning to look healthy. After missing two games with a bad groin, Jackson will be the featured back for Buffalo. The veteran has been solid again this season. Expect the Jets to use him in all situations.

Jackson will face the Browns who are 14th in aFPA to running backs. The neutral matchup means a good play for Jackson who should be back in your starting lineup as a solid RB2 for Week 13.

BUF RB Fred Jackson - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12: Jackson vs Jets

Fred Jackson was a late scratch last weekend, but the extra week off should put him in the Bills' starting lineup. With no practice this week because of the storms in Buffalo, Jackson might be a little rusty. Plus there is the factor that he plays Monday night now so if for some reason he can't go, you could be stuck without a running back unless you have Bryce Brown or Anthony Dixon.

The other factor is the Bills like Brown and will probably not give Jackson a full workload anyway as he comes back from the groin injury.

The Jets have been good against opposing running backs ranked 6th in aFPA. All of these factors make Jackson an RB3 or flex for Week 12.

BUF RB Fred Jackson - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11: Jackson vs Dolphins
Fred Jackson returned in a limited role last week and the results were three carries and four catches. Expect him to be more involved as he gets back to 100%. He should be the No. 1 option this week out of the backfield although we will still see a lot of Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown.

Jackson faces a Dolphins defense that is 14th in aFPA to running backs. Because Miami is very good in the passing game, the running backs might be get more opportunities. Jackson will not get a full workload but enough to have some fantasy impact. Start him as an RB3 or flex for Week 11.

Update: Albert Breer is reporting there's a "decent chance" Fred Jackson sits out tonight's game. Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown would become Sneaky Starts if Jackson can't play tonight. If he does suit up, it's shaping up as a murky three-headed committee. We'll know more around 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time when inactives are announced.

BUF RB Fred Jackson - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7: Jackson vs Vikings
The Bills have used both running backs evenly most of this year in the running game, but Fred Jackson has been the choice when it comes to the passing game. He as 21 catches in the last three games, while still averaging about 8 carries per game. This makes Jackson very valuable, especially in PPR leagues.

There also has been a major shift in the workload as Jackson was on the field for 52 while C.J. Spiller had a shocking 12. If this keeps up, Jackson's value skyrockets.

One thing to keep an eye on is Jackson's ankle which is banged up. He is listed probable, but he is not playing at 100%.

Jackson has a very good matchup with Minnesota who is 27th in aFPA to running backs. Start him as a high-end RB2 in all leagues, especially PPR leagues where he even ranks higher.

BUF RB Fred Jackson - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6: Jackson vs.Patriots
Fred Jackson had 107 yards from scrimmage last week and has really become more valuable than CJ Spiller, especially in PPR leagues. The Bills like using him in passing situations where he has 21 catches the last three games.

He has a great matchup this week against a New England defense that has struggled with running backs. Start Jackson as a high-end RB2 for Week 6.

BUF RB Fred Jackson - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5: Jackson vs. Bills
Fred Jackson continues to get snaps and the Bills continue to use the veteran back, especially in the passing game. His numbers haven't been great, but neither has his teammate C.J. Spiller's.

Jackson faces an average Lions run defense, so it is possible he gets some better numbers than he did the last two weeks. Start him as a high-end RB3 or flex for Week 5.

BUF RB Fred Jackson - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4: Jackson vs Texans
Fred Jackson only ran the ball six times, but his value continues to skyrocket in PPR leagues. He had eight catches for 78 yards and a touchdown. Jackson has really helped owners in the PPR leagues the past several years and that trend continues.

The Texans have been very average on defense against running backs, but have been a lot better against those backs who are heavily involved in the passing game. Don't expect a repeat performance from last week from Jackson, but do expect some productivity. Start him as a low-end RB2 for Week 4.
