Scouting report

NYJ RB Frank Gore - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Cleveland
Frank Gore had a season-high 23 carries in the Jets' first win of the season. However, he only rushed for 59 yards and 2.6 yards per carry. He did score a touchdown which made him fantasy relevant last week and the Jets seem to be okay with him finishing out the season as the feature back.

Gore faces Cleveland who is ranked 16th in aFPA to running backs. He should see a lot of carries again, and the numbers should be better, but not enough to warrant a start for Week 16.

Keep Gore on the bench in all leagues and formats. The Jets got a win but the offense is still inconsistent. Don't trust them even if Gore gets the touches as we expect.

NYJ RB Frank Gore - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Seattle
It's amazing watching Frank Gore still play at a high level at the age. But even guys like him get his bell rung. Gore carried the ball one time before leaving with a concussion. If he is cleared, we expect him to be back in the lineup as the No. 1 back. However, Ty Johnson rushed for 122 yards in Gore's absence so the Jets might try to split carries.

Gore will face the Seahawks who are ranked 25th in aFPA to running backs. Even with the good matchup, we expect Gore's workload to shrink if he plays. Keep Gore on the bench for Week 14.

NYJ RB Frank Gore - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Las Vegas
Frank Gore tied his season-high with 21 touches last Sunday. The veteran keeps chugging away and doesn't look like he 37 years old. He produced a season-high 86 total yards and with LaMical Perine still out, Gore should continue the role of the featured back.

The Jets will face the Raiders who are 26th in aFPA to running backs. Despite the overall struggles of New York's offense, Gore has a chance for some good numbers if the touches continue which we expect to happen.

Start Gore as a high-end RB3 or Flex for Week 13. The Jets should hang in this game and they will ride Gore in the running game as they have the past several weeks.

NYJ RB Frank Gore - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Miami
With La'Mical Perine out with an injury, Frank Gore slides back into the No. 1 running back spot for the Jets. The veteran had a season-high in touches last Sunday with 17 and scored his first touchdown of the season. People still think Gore has something left in the tank, but the issue is the inconsistent Jets offense. They actually looked like an NFL team last week with Joe Flacco at quarterback but will have Sam Darnold return against the Dolphins.

Gore faces Miami for the second time this season. He rushed for 46 yards the first time they met and also had a season-high four receptions. The Dolphins are ranked 24th in aFPA to running backs so the matchup favors New York.

Start Gore as an RB3 or flex in all leagues and formats. The touches should be there with Perine out and that should be enough for Gore to help your fantasy team in Week 12.

NYJ RB Frank Gore - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Los Angeles Chargers
When Frank Gore is on the field, he is getting the ball. He has double-digit carries over the past four games as the backup to LaMical Perine. The Jets have confidence in the veteran back which is why they are sticking with him and not handing the keys to the rookie. During that four-game stretch, Gore is averaging about 45 rushing yards per game. He is not involved in the passing game.

Gore will face the Chargers who are 17th in aFPA to running backs. We think the Jets could start giving the ball to Perine more so that keeps Gore's value down to the point where he needs to remain on your bench as a backup for Week 11.

NYJ RB Frank Gore - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. New England
The Jets are splitting time at running back with Frank Gore and LaMical Perine. Gore is getting about 10 touches per game. But Perine is definitely the better overall fantasy option because he is more involved in the passing game.

Gore will face New England this Monday who are ranked 23rd in aFPA to running backs. New York's offense has been really bad in recent weeks so don't expect a lot, but if any of the backs can contribute, it's probably Perine. Keep Gore on the bench for Week 9.

NYJ RB Frank Gore - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Kansas City
Frank Gore is on a bad team but he is still playing hard and still producing some results. He had 11 carries for 60 yards which were his second-highest this season and best rushing average of 2020. The issue is that he is now splitting time with rookie LaMical Perine and Perine is considered the future. So expect Perine to get more time on the field and more touches. Gore had a good run, but his fantasy stock is falling. Keep him on the bench and consider sending him to the waiver wire.
