PIT RB Dri Archer - Week 1, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at New England
Archer will get a couple of carries this week with Le'Veon Bell suspended. He might be a bigger factor in the passing game, but I wouldn't expect more than five touches. DeAngelo Williams will do most of the heavy lifting for the Steelers backfield against the Patriots.

PIT RB Dri Archer - Week 18, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Dri Archer Wildcard game vs. Ravens
With LeVeon Bell not expected to play for the Steelers, Dri Archer will have an increased role for the Steelers, though Josh Harris is expected to start. Archer will be employed more as a receiver than as a runner and he did catch two passes for 19 yards after Bell left late in the third quarter last week. Don't expect more than a couple of rushes from Archer to keep the Ravens respectful, but he could get a handful of receptions.

PIT RB Dri Archer - Week 1, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Dri Archer Week 1 vs Browns
Dri Archer's role in the Steelers' offense, particularly this week if Lance Moore (groin) doesn't play could be larger as a receiver than as a running back. Don't be surprised if Archer catches a couple of passes and gets a couple of carries this week as the Steelers unveil their new toy. And when he gets the ball, with his 4.26-speed, he's a threat to score from anywhere.

PIT RB Dri Archer - 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
The fastest player in this year's draft, Dri Archer will be used in multiple fashions for the Steelers this season. He's listed as a RB/WR by the Steelers, which could have some value if your league allows him to be used as both and also gives you points for return yards.

Fantasy Downside
The Steelers will try to get him the ball a few times each game, but many times, that won't be enough to score big fantasy points - unless you get his return yards as well.

Bottom Line
Archer has taken a pair of short passes for long gains already this preseason and is also getting a few carries sprinkled in. He might be Danny Woodhead light. If you get to take his return yards as well, all the better. He scored on eight of 19 career kick returns in college. Archer is going undrafted in most leagues due to the fact he's only going to get five or six touches per game. But with his speed, he's always a threat to break one.
