Scouting report

CLE WR Donovan Peoples-Jones - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Packers

Donovan Peoples-Jones has caught 9-of-15 targets for 138 yards in his last two games. While we could see a decrease in targets with Jarvis Landry likely returning, perhaps Landry's presence will benefit Peoples-Jones because he'll take away some coverage. The Packers rank 10th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points per game, but DPJ has the downfield ability to provide upside WR4 production in this spot.

CLE WR Donovan Peoples-Jones - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Raiders

Donovan Peoples-Jones is coming off a solid game against the Ravens where he caught 5-of-7 targets for 90 yards. He's in a good position for more strong production with so many Browns' pass-catchers out of the lineup. We've also seen a high ceiling from Peoples-Jones this year: four receptions, 101 yards, and two touchdowns against the Cardinals.

The Raiders rank 14th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points per game, so this isn't the easiest matchup. You also have to account for a likely run-heavy approach from Cleveland given the depleted nature of their passing game. Therefore, we should temper our expectations for Peoples-Jones in this matchup.

CLE WR Donovan Peoples-Jones - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Ravens

Donovan Peoples-Jones intrigues me this week with Marlon Humphrey now out of the lineup. DPJ has the ability to take the top off an opposing defense. He's shown a high ceiling this year: four receptions, 101 yards, and two touchdowns against the Cardinals. The Ravens are giving up 8.7 yards per target to wideouts, which ranks 22nd in the NFL.

CLE WR Donovan Peoples-Jones - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Lions

Donovan Peoples-Jones has put up 70+ yards in three of his last four games, including two 80+ yard games and three touchdowns during that span. He's now the premier deep threat in this offense with Odell Beckham Jr. now with the Los Angeles Rams. Peoples-Jones is in a great spot against a Lions defense that ranks 10th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points per game, but 31st in yards per target (9.45). We could see him get loose downfield against this secondary.

CLE WR Donovan Peoples-Jones - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Patriots

Donovan Peoples-Jones has emerged as a viable weekly sleeper at the wide receiver position. In his last two games, he's caught 6-of-8 targets for 187 yards and three touchdowns, including two 50+ yard receptions. Peoples-Jones has a chance to make an impact for the rest of the season with Odell Beckham Jr. gone and Jarvis Landry banged up.

While it's likely that his production will be volatile given the run-heavy nature of this offense combined with his skill set as a deep threat, you have to be intrigued by his upside. Peoples-Jones has put up an average depth of target of 28.0 and 20.0 in his last two games. Consider him an upside WR4.

CLE WR Donovan Peoples-Jones - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Bengals

Donovan Peoples-Jones becomes an intriguing wide receiver sleeper in this matchup in Odell Beckham's absence. Peoples-Jones was really starting to come along before his injury, catching 9-of-11 targets for 171 yards and two touchdowns in his last two games. He looks like a boom-or-bust WR4 with solid upside, as well as salary relief in DFS tournaments.

CLE WR Donovan Peoples-Jones - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Broncos

Donovan Peoples-Jones came alive last week, catching 4-of-5 targets for 101 yards and two touchdowns. He has a chance to function as the top wideout in this offense if Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry are unable to suit up for this game. While that will likely lead to an uptick in targets, temper your expectations because we've seen time and time again where an unproven wideout is the top target due to injury, and he disappoints. Just look at Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.

Having said that, this is a unique situation with so many fantasy rosters dealing with depleted lineups due to the heavy bye weeks. I would still consider Peoples-Jones to be an upside WR3 if he's the main target in this offense due to injury. Be sure to check on each player's injury status as we get closer to kickoff.
