Scouting report

HOU QB Davis Mills - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Davis Mills has done okay while he's on the field, but Houston still has a weird sense of mixing Jeff Driskel into the offense. Mills is the main quarterback in Houston, but he's not someone you're willing to roll with in trying to win a fantasy championship.

HOU QB Davis Mills - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Las Vegas Raiders

The Houston Texans just aren't good and Davis Mills hasn't really done anything fantasy relevant this season, with only five touchdowns and four interceptions through five games. The good news is Vegas sports the third-worst pass defense in DVOA rankings, but with only Brandin Cooks and Dameon Pierce worth using in the offense, you still shouldn't be comfortable relying on Mills, even with guys like Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford and Jalen Hurts on their bye week.

HOU QB Davis Mills - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs 49ers

Believe it or not, Davis Mills has actually been playing pretty well since reclaiming the starting job from Tyrod Taylor and at the very least, is making a case for Houston to have a competition in 2022. He's worked his way into a low QB2 spot this week against the 49ers with 200+ yards and five total touchdowns in the last three games. The 49ers will be fighting for a playoff spot, but that didn't stop Houston from stunning the Chargers last week. That said, how confident are you to bank on Mills in your fantasy championship?

HOU QB Davis Mills - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Panthers

The rookie will make his first NFL start Thursday in place of the injured Tyrod Taylor. While no one is expecting this to be a repeat of last year with Justin Herbert replacing Taylor, Mills was ok in his spot work against the Browns. The downside is he's on a short week and he's facing a Panthers defense that has played extremely well through the first two weeks of the season. Mills is a desperation play in Week 3 but at least worth watching how he fares in his first NFL start.
