Football Team WR Curtis Samuel (groin) did not practice Wednesday. Samuel's groin may keep him out of Week 1. Dyami Brown would likely be the biggest beneficiary of Samuel's absence and is a Sneaky Start for Week 1.

Washington Football Team WR Curtis Samuel did not practice Wednesday according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. Samuel tried to run and stretch but ended up leaving the practice field.

Fantasy Impact: 

The free agent signing is in danger of missing Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers and ceding work to rookie Dyami Brown and fellow free agent signee Adam Humphries. Samuel has dealt with injuries the entirety of his NFL career and continues to be a fantasy risk.

Curtis Samuel day. What we know:
He practiced today, but limited. Ron Rivera didn't want to over-extend.
Concern is conditioning, not the groin, per Rivera.

Fantasy Impact: 

The tweet went on to say Samuel isn't telling anyone if he's 100% or how close to it if he's not. As far as Week 1, the tweet quoted Samuel as saying, "Maybe, who knows. We'll see." It's been a frustrating summer for Samuel owners as the team hasn't seemed concerned about rushing Samuel back. Even if he goes in Week 1, it's hard to imagine he'll have a big workload. However it's something to monitor leading up to Sunday. Samuel is familiar with Rivera and the offense.

Ron Rivera said Curtis Samuel practiced off to the side because they didn't want to risk him slipping on the field during the rain.

Fantasy Impact: 

Keim went on to say that he didn't really notice anyone slipping on the turf Monday in the rain, so it seems the WFT is being really safe with Samuel. The team said Sunday they don't plan to rush him back, but they are comfortable because Samuel is familiar with Rivera's system.
