Scouting report

JAX RB Carlos Hyde - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Denver Broncos
Carlos Hyde surprisingly received more carries than James Robinson in Week 1, but he showed very little in the passing game and was not efficient on the ground in an offense that struggled to do anything against a poor Houston defense. Now the Jags will host the Broncos, who boast a defense immensely more talented than what the Texans offered last week. Hyde's primary fantasy relevance is as a thorn in the side of James Robinson drafters rather than as a standalone fantasy starter. Keep Hyde on benches in Week 2 in a tough matchup.

JAX RB Carlos Hyde - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 @ Houston Texans
Carlos Hyde projects to start the season as the change-of-pace back behind James Robinson following Travis Etienne's season-ending foot injury. While the Texans present a great matchup for virtually everyone on Jacksonville's offense, Hyde lacks pass-catching ability and he is not guaranteed sufficient rushing usage to inspire confidence as a fantasy play. Hyde should be on fantasy benches or the waiver wire in Week 1 despite the plus matchup.

SEA RB Carlos Hyde - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs Washington

Seattle has done a nice job of still getting Hyde involved in Carson. He has 14 or 15 carries in three of the last four games, though he played less than half of Seattle's snaps last week against the Jets, even in a game that was never close. Hyde is just inside our top 50 half-PPR running backs.

SEA RB Carlos Hyde - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs Giants

With Seattle limiting Chris Carson in Week 12, Hyde picked up 41/67 snaps and saw 17 touches. That only totaled 29 yards (though he did have a 17-yard touchdown taken away by a penalty). Hyde goes back to being a solid handcuff for the fantasy playoffs, but will still see some work to spell Carson.

SEA RB Carlos Hyde - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs Eagles

Hyde returned to Seattle's lineup last week against the Cardinals and had 95 total yards and a touchdown. His workload will come back down a little bit with Chris Carson back in the mix, but Hyde is set as the No. 2 back with Carson back and Hyde is still among the top 50 backs this week, even in a week where all 32 teams are in action.

SEA RB Carlos Hyde - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs 49ers

Hyde is dealing with a hamstring injury, but if he can go, he's set to carry the workload Sunday as Chris Carson is unlikely to play after suffering a foot injury against the Cardinals. Hyde finished with 15 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown in the overtime loss. For now, Hyde is squarely in the RB2 discussion, but follow his practice status throughout the week. Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas will also be sprinkled into the offense.

SEA RB Carlos Hyde - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs Cardinals

Hyde could be coming back to the rotation this week after returning to practice on a limited basis. He's averaged about six touches per game in the three he has played this season. But he has yet to crack 25 rushing yards in a game. Consider him a deep flex for Week 7.
