Scouting report

DET WR Calvin Johnson - Week 17, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Chicago
After registering just two total receptions the previous two weeks, Calvin Johnson was more himself last week against the 49ers. In the win, he was targeted 10 times, resulting in six receptions for a team-high 77 yards and his eighth TD of the season. It’s been an inconsistent ’15 for Megatron, but he’s eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark yet again. The Bears couldn’t slow down Johnson in October, as he caught six passes for 166 yards and a TD.

DET WR Calvin Johnson - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. San Francisco
While Matthew Stafford was having the most efficient game in Detroit history by completing 88 percent of his passes last Monday against the Saints, Calvin Johnson was targeted just once, leading to a 19-yard reception. He is still dealing with a sore ankle, but after scoring four times in Weeks 12 and 13, he has just two grabs for 35 yards the past two contests. Megatron has 72 catches and seven TDs on the season, so go ahead and keep on starting him, especially versus a poor San Francisco defense.

DET WR Calvin Johnson - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at New Orleans
After scoring four times the previous two games, Calvin Johnson was limited to just one reception for 16 yards last week by the Rams. Golden Tate scored twice and even slot receiver T.J. Jones and RB Theo Riddick received more looks than Calvin’s six; but with the Lions trying to play catch-up, the downfield passes weren’t available. Megatron is having a down season by his standards, but is still averaging 5.5 grabs per game and should eclipse 1,000 yards on Monday. New Orleans is allowing nearly 280 passing yards per game, so keep on starting Johnson.

DET WR Calvin Johnson - Week 14, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at St. Louis
In the past two games, Calvin Johnson has caught four touchdowns. In the loss versus Green Bay last Thursday he finished with three grabs, 44 yards and his seventh score of the year. Megatron was targeted eight times by Matthew Stafford, so the reception and yardage total was a bit disappointing for fantasy owners. The Rams allow 240 passing yards per game and Johnson is always a must start when healthy.

DET WR Calvin Johnson - Week 13, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Green Bay
What a happy Thanksgiving it was for Calvin Johnson. Megatron busted past the Eagles for eight receptions, 93 yards and three TDs – doubling his touchdown total on the season. He has caught at least five passes on 10 straight contests and been over 80 yards in six in a row. Johnson had 81 yards versus the Packers three weeks ago and is returning to elite WR status.

DET WR Calvin Johnson - Week 12, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Philadelphia
Still hobbled by a sore ankle, Calvin Johnson was targeted nine times last Sunday versus the Raiders. He collected five grabs for a team-high 88 yards in the win and has been as consistent as they come over the past four games – finishing with between 81 and 88 yards in each. Megatron hasn’t scored since Week 7 and his only 100-yard game of the season was in Week 6, but he should remain inked into your starting lineup, especially against an Eagles defense that just gave up five passing TDs to the Bucs.

DET WR Calvin Johnson - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Oakland
In the win over the Packers last Sunday, Calvin Johnson battled through his ankle injury and led the Lions with six grabs for 81 yards. Megatron hasn’t scored in the last two contests and you should definitely temper expectations with the ailment. The Raiders have allowed a lot of passing yards but just four WR scores this year. Johnson will receive plenty of targets and should post good numbers.
