Scouting report

by Chris Kucharski

PIT RB Benny Snell Jr. - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Atlanta Falcons
Benny Snell got his first touches of the season and made them count with 12 carries for 62 yards and a touchdown with Najee Harris injured and Jaylen Warren inactive with an injured. Warren has been cleared to play so Snell will back him up.

It's a good matchup for the Steelers running backs as they face Atlanta who are ranked 24th in aFPA to the position. We expect Snell to see some carries, but the majority will probably go to Warren. Keep Snell on the bench for Week 13.

PIT RB Benny Snell Jr. - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs Colts

With James Conner dealing with a quadriceps injury, Snell saw 18 carries 84 yards and a touchdown and 21 total touches for 107 yards. Conner returned to practice Thursday so it's tough to gauge what the running back situation will look like on Sunday. Snell is our No. 35 half-PPR running back but keep an eye on James Conner's status for Sunday. Indianapolis did just allow David Johnson to catch 11 passes for 106 yards

PIT RB Benny Snell Jr. - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs Bengals

Benny Snell cracks our top 50 half-PPR running backs, but you'd have to be quite desperate at this stage of the game to play him, coming off just three touches against the Bills and 13 total touches in the last two games. In fact, Snell only played five snaps against the Bills. And in Week 10 against the Bengals, Snell touched the ball three times for 12 yards. Not ideal for the fantasy playoffs.

PIT RB Benny Snell Jr. - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs Washington

In Snell's second full game this season, he received 19 touches for 93 total yards. It's likely he gets another start since James Conner will probably miss Monday's game as he recovers from COVID. He'll face a Washington team that ranks near the middle in stopping the run, allowing about 115 yards per game.

PIT RB Benny Snell Jr. - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs Titans

Snell saw some garbage-time work and even scored a touchdown in Week 6. His ceiling is obviously capped by James Conner, but with four teams on a bye, he at least cracks our top 50 backs for the week and has seen seven touches in each of his last three games.

PIT RB Benny Snell Jr. - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs Broncos

Snell Jr. was forced into action Monday thanks to James Conner leaving Monday's game in the second half with an ankle injury. Snell responded with his first career 100-yard game (113 yards on 19 carries). Snell has seemed to earn himself more work even when Conner is back to full strength. Conner did practice in full Thursday, so the position group has become muddied but Snell currently has the edge at the moment due to Conner's injury concerns. He's our current RB31.

PIT RB Benny Snell Jr. - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Baltimore Ravens
With James Conner out this week -- again -- Benny Snell moves to the forefront of the Steelers' running attack again. He had 21, 16 and 16 carries in the three games before Conner's latest return, so look for something along those lines in terms of workload. Brandon Williams will sit this game out for the Ravens, as well, meaning Baltimore will be without its best run stuffer. An RB2 workload in non-PPR leagues is the ceiling here.
