PHI WR Alshon Jeffery - Week 20 Fantasy Football Outlook

NFC Conference Championship vs. Minnesota Vikings

Alshon Jeffery makes for an interesting contrarian play this week in DFS. He's had success against the Vikings, with a career line of 45-685-7 against Minnesota, the best he's done against any opponent. This, of course, will require Nick Foles taking shots on the outside, which he has done far less than Carson Wentz.

PHI WR Alshon Jeffery - Week 19 Fantasy Football Outlook

Divisional Round vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Eagles have the third-lowest implied team total in Vegas this week at 19 points as an underdog. The Falcons are more beatable through the air (19th in aFPA vs. WRs) compared to the ground (first in aFPA vs. RBs). The problem for Alshon Jeffery is he's been Nick Foles' third-most targeted pass-catcher behind Zach Ertz and Nelson Agholor, averaging less than 11 yards per reception. A projected negative game script could help, but Foles has looked more in between the numbers for his pass attempts. Jeffery is a risky play in the divisional round.

PHI WR Alshon Jeffery - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Dallas Cowboys

The Eagles have locked up home-field advantage in the postseason, and head coach Doug Pederson has indicated his offensive starters will not play the entire game Week 17. It's impossible to know how much Alshon Jeffery will play. For that reason alone, he is not a starting consideration in Week 17.

PHI WR Alshon Jeffery - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Oakland Raiders

The Eagles play Christmas night (Monday), and anybody with Eagles players must be aware that Doug Pederson has hinted this week of resting starters if/when the Eagles lock up home field advantage. If the Vikings lose Saturday (a long shot at Green Bay without Aaron Rodgers), the Eagles will have already done that. Otherwise, the Eagles currently have the third-highest team total in Vegas this week, and the Raiders are poor against WRs (23rd in aFPA). Jeffery's double-digit targets with Nick Foles last week locks him into WR2 status for Week 16.

PHI WR Alshon Jeffery - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at New York Giants

The Eagles still have an implied team total in Vegas in the top half of teams this week despite starting back-up QB Nick Foles, and the loss of their starting QB could mean increased volume for the backfield. Here's more concerning news for Alshon Jeffery. According to NFL's Next Gen Stats, Foles has thrown just 5.8% of his passes outside the tackle box the last two seasons compared to 11.7% from Carson Wentz. The matchup is still a good one for Jeffery, but he'll have to be more efficient. Consider him a high-risk WR2/FLEX this week.

PHI WR Alshon Jeffery - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Los Angeles Rams

The Eagles-Rams game has the third-highest over/under in Vegas this week at 48 points. Over the last four weeks, the Rams have allowed the ninth-most receiving yards in the league on the fifth-most targets. Overall, the Rams are fifth in our aFPA vs. WR rankings. This is a matchup where Alshon Jeffery is still a WR2 but his ceiling is lower than previous weeks. Tight end Zach Ertz cleared for practice also hurts his ceiling.

PHI WR Alshon Jeffery - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Seattle Seahawks

The Eagles have the fourth-highest implied team total of the week at 26.25 points, and Seattle is top-five in aFPA versus RBs. That means the Eagles could rely on Carson Wentz to attack a banged up Seahawks secondary. That's good news for Alshon Jeffery, who is a high-end WR2 or low-end WR1 this week, with Seattle closer to league average in aFPA versus WRs. Jeffery is averaging 9 targets per game in his last three games, with a whopping 5 touchdowns in his last four games. Start him with confidence.
