Scouting report

PHI WR Alshon Jeffery - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Chicago Bears

The Bears are a solid 12th in aFPA vs. WRs this season, but Carson Wentz is looking Alshon Jeffery's way more and more where it counts, with 4 touchdowns to Jeffery in the past three weeks. He's also averaging a solid 8 targets per game this season. Fire up Jeffery as a WR2 in Week 12.

PHI WR Alshon Jeffery - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Dallas Cowboys

Alshon Jeffery popped up on the injury report midweek with an ankle injury, one that coach Doug Pederson admitted he's been dealing with for a few weeks. With a Sunday night kickoff, Jeffery owners should ensure they have a back-up plan for Week 11. The matchup is too good though to bench Jeffery early in the day Sunday, unless you really have a similar or better option. He's a WR2 in Week 11.

PHI WR Alshon Jeffery - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Denver Broncos

The Eagles offense may funnel through pass-catchers this week, with Denver the toughest match-up in our aFPA rankings versus RBs. However, it's no picnic for WRs either, as Denver is fourth in our aFPA vs. WR rankings. Overall, the Broncos have also allowed the fourth-fewest points to the position. These factors add up to Jeffery being a risky low-end WR2 this week, as he's caught 5 passes or more in a game just once this season.

PHI WR Alshon Jeffery - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. San Francisco

Philadelphia has the highest implied total of Week 8 at near 30 points. The 49ers are a plus matchup for WRs, ranked just 18th in our aFPA vs. WR rankings, but Jeffery is finding himself third in the Carson Wentz target pecking order in recent weeks, behind Zach Ertz and Nelson Agholor. Because of the relatively even target distribution, Jeffery can be considered no more than a low-end WR2 in Week 8—but with upside from there, given the matchup.

PHI WR Alshon Jeffery - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Washington

Shutdown corner Josh Norman returns this week, which could cap Jeffery's ceiling on Monday Night Football. Washington is second in our aFPA vs. WR rankings. It's a difficult matchup, as this team is an impressive fourth in PPR points allowed to WRs this season. Downgrade Jeffery to a risky WR2 in Week 7.

PHI WR Alshon Jeffery - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Carolina Panthers

Alshon Jeffery was shut down last week by Patrick Peterson, but the Panthers provide some opportunities for success on Thursday night. Carolina allowed 5 touchdowns to Saints and Patriots WRs in Weeks 3 and 4. Take out last week's obvious bad CB matchup and Jeffery averaged 8.5 targets the first four weeks. Jeffery is back in WR2 status this week.

PHI WR Alshon Jeffery - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Arizona Cardinals

Quarterbacks have completed just 6 passes all year on Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson. This is not a good spot at all for Alshon Jeffery. The Cardinals may be 28th in our aFPA vs. PPR WRs, but just know that's not because of Patrick Peterson. That matchup moves Jeffery down to a low-end WR2 in Week 5.
