Kevin Kolb to start at QB for Eagles Week 17

No big scoop/surprise here, but Eagles QB Michael Vick will not play Sunday against the Cowboys and Kevin Kolb will start, per team sources.

Fantasy Impact:

As the story says, not a real big surprise considering how the Eagles and Vick came out of Week 16 after a loss to Minny. Vick is a bit banged up and continues to take hit after hit whether he stays in the pocket or runs. The Eagles will most likely use Week 17 as their bye week, since they are locked into the 3rd seed win or lose this week. Kolb makes a decent start in Week 17 against a Cowboys secondary that has given up points. Kolb will likely work a lot with Jermone Harrison at RB and Jason Avant and Riley Cooper at WR.

Eagles to sign WR A.J. Brown to three-year extension

The Eagles and star WR A.J. Brown agreed to terms on a new 3-year extension for $96M, the highest for any WR in NFL history. He’s now under contract through 2029 & his total guarantee of $84M is also the highest.

Fantasy Impact:

The Eagles are not messing around with their top two receivers, inking this deal just 10 days after locking in DeVonta Smith. Jalen Hurts remains insulated with high-level talent.

Lions extend WR Amon-Ra St. Brown

The Lions have a deal for one of the top young talents. They agreed on an extension for WR Amon-Ra St. Brown. He gets four years and more than $120M, with $77M guaranteed.

Fantasy Impact:

Good move for the Lions, who lock in their No. 1 pass-catching option. They will still likely address the position in the NFL Draft, but that shouldn't impact St. Brown.

The Jets are trading QB Zach Wilson to the Denver Broncos. The deal: Wilson and a 7th to Denver for a 6th.

Fantasy Impact:

It's hard to picture this prohibiting the team from taking a QB in the NFL Draft but it certainly insulates them a little bit if they end up unable to move up where they want. Wilson's dynasty SuperFlex value will at least improve in the short term.
