Eagles expect to know Week 1 QB starter by Friday

If Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is any closer to being cleared for contact ahead of the Sept. 6 season-opener against the Atlanta Falcons, coach Doug Pederson still isn't letting on.

Though, he admits that he'll know whether the Week 1 starter at quarterback will be Wentz or Nick Foles by Friday, the day after the preseason finale against the Jets.

When will the public know?

"90 minutes before kickoff," a smiling Pederson said on Tuesday before practice at NovaCare Complex.

Fantasy Impact:

The Eagles open the season on Thursday, Sept. 6, so it makes sense a decision will have to be made. The story said Pederson has been impressed with Wentz's progress, and Wentz says his knee is healthy, but he'll have to be cleared by doctors to start Week 1. Wentz has said all along it's going to be a close call.
