Scouting report

CAR RB Miles Sanders - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Green Bay Packers

Miles Sanders had just six carries for two yards last week against the Falcons. He’s back to being a clear second-fiddle to Chuba Hubbard after eating into touches sporadically for a few weeks, and fantasy managers should steer clear of him. He’s droppable.

CAR RB Miles Sanders - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Miles Sanders had 10 carries for 74 yards last week against the Saints, aided greatly by a 48-yard run that set up a Panthers field goal in the third quarter of yet another lopsided Carolina defeat. It was good to see Sanders do something positive in what has been a mostly forgettable season for the former Eagle. He’s had double-digit touches in three of his past four games but that hasn’t translated into fantasy production and he’s been second to Chuba Hubbard in the pecking order. Stay away from Sanders, as he’s number two on the depth chart for a bad offense.

CAR RB Miles Sanders - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at New Orleans Saints

Miles Sanders was limited to just eight carries for 23 yards against the Buccaneers last week. He saw Chuba Hubbard get 25 carries, which isn’t a good sign for the high-priced free agent acquisition. The backfield workload hasn’t been consistent in Carolina, but Hubbard has consistently looked better than Sanders in a disappointing season for the Panthers. Sanders seems capped by his role as a complementary - or even backup - running back in a bad offense. Sit him. Drop him.

CAR RB Miles Sanders - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Miles Sanders had 15 carries last week against the Titans, but he gained just 28 yards in another loss for the Panthers. Sanders is still being outplayed by Chuba Hubbard - who isn’t really playing very well - and is in a full on timeshare with him. The team has still been giving him work, but his lack of production with the touches he gets is hard to get too excited about. Sit him in a tough matchup against the Buccaneers this week.

CAR RB Miles Sanders - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Tennessee Titans

Miles Sanders got plenty of work last week against the Cowboys after being relegated to backup duty in the previous few outings. Sanders was in more of a 50-50 split with Chuba Hubbard in the lopsided loss, finishing with 52 yards on 11 carries and a reception. Neither running back looks particularly good right now, and the Carolina offense looks terrible, so banking on Sanders or Hubbard looks like a losing proposition. There’s upside if he can get touches this week against the Titans, but fantasy managers should still view Sanders as a low-end RB3 option at best.

CAR RB Miles Sanders - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Dallas Cowboys

Miles Sanders seems to be the backup now. He’s been in on less than 40% of the snaps for multiple weeks now and has just 10 carries in his last three games combined. Sanders was dismal - along with the rest of the Carolina offense - in the loss to Chicago last week, losing five yards on two rushing attempts. Against a tough Dallas defense this week, it seems unlikely we’ll see Sanders rebound. He should be on waivers in most leagues.

CAR RB Miles Sanders - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Chicago Bears

Miles Sanders saw 25% of the team’s offensive snaps last week. He ended up with 61 yards on nine touches, including three receptions. It was good to see Sanders active in the passing game, but it was a forgettable day for the Carolina offense as a whole. Sanders is in a straight up timeshare - and is on the losing end of it - with Chuba Hubbard, so fantasy managers should hold off on putting him in lineups until we see the workload shift back in Sanders’ favor.
