Scouting report

KC WR Mecole Hardman - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Mecole Hardman is nothing more than a touchdown or bust play. He has just five receptions from Week 9 to Week 16. He was a good option early in the year when Kansas City had health issues, but he offers very little right now.

KC WR Mecole Hardman - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at New England Patriots

Mecole Hardman wasn't even targeted last week. He has three total catches in his last four games, with two of those games resulting in full zeroes. You can forget about Hardman as a fantasy option at this point.

KC WR Mecole Hardman - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Los Angeles Chargers

As we've said all season, Mecole Hardman will make big plays this season, but his consistency is going to be an issue. He had a long 63-yard touchdown last week, but that was literally his only target of the game. He's too inconsistent to rely on in most fantasy leagues, but could be a Hail Mary play for DFS purposes.

KC WR Mecole Hardman - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Houston Texans

After a bad Week 4, Mecole Hardman bounced back with a solid 4-79 off six targets in Week 5. Hardman's now had 60+ yards in three of the four games since Tyreek Hill's injury. It's not clear if Hill will return this week, so if he does, Hardman's ceiling will be somewhat limited. But if Hill remains out, and Sammy Watkins is also out, then Hardman could be a high reward flex play in a favorable matchup against the Texans. So keep an eye out for the Chiefs' injury report before making a decision on Hardman.

KC WR Mecole Hardman - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Indianapolis Colts

For the second game in a row, Mecole Hardman had just two receptions. Although the yardage totals in those two games were wildly different (97 vs. 9). Hardman has had at least five targets in every game since Tyreek Hill's injury and he's always one catch away from a huge day. He proved that in Week 2 and 3 with an 83-yard score and a 42-yard score. He should be viewed as a WR3 with a high ceiling and low floor in a decent matchup against the Colts in Week 5.

KC WR Mecole Hardman - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Detroit Lions

Mecole Hardman led the Chiefs in receiving yards last week, but that was mostly the result of one play: an 83-yard touchdown. Outside of that reception, Hardman had just one other catch, for 14 yards. He's a big-play receiver, but he hasn't quite taken over Tyreek Hill's production. He is, however, a good fantasy option moving forward as he can break a big play at any moment. And his five targets in Week 3 proves he's still getting enough looks to stay busy. We like him as a WR3 in a fine matchup against the Lions.

KC WR Mecole Hardman - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Baltimore Ravens

Mecole Hardman had a solid debut in his first NFL start, catching four of six targets for 61 yards and a touchdown. He also had a 74-yard touchdown get called back due to a holding call, so he nearly had a really huge day. Hardman should continue to fill in nicely in Tyreek Hill's absence. He gets a somewhat tough matchup against the Ravens this week, but we still like him as a WR3.
