KC WR Mecole Hardman - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

It's been a tough year overall for Mecole Hardman, who is coming off of a 2-11-0 game. Hardman has eight games this year below 30 receiving yards and has caught just one total touchdown. He has a chance to be productive in Week 16, though, as Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce are both on the COVID list. If both are unable to play, then Hardman becomes a relevant play. Hardman has elite speed like Hill and could score on a big play at any moment. And with more playing time, the chances of him making a big play increase. Hardman is third on the Chiefs in receptions, receiving yards and targets, so he should get looks with Hill and Kelce out. However, if Hill and Kelce are both active then Hardman probably won't be worth starting.

KC WR Mecole Hardman - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Dallas Cowboys

Patrick Mahomes threw for 405 yards and five touchdowns last week, but Mecole Hardman only finished 2-27. Hardman was starting to show some promise but has now been held below 30 receiving yards in three of his last four games. It's just too difficult to trust any Chiefs receiver outside of Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce as none of them are putting up consistent numbers. Hardman is nothing more than a desperation WR5 in Week 11 vs. the Cowboys.

KC WR Mecole Hardman - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 @ Las Vegas Raiders

Mecole Hardman finished 3-20 on six targets last week. Yards were hard to come by for the Chiefs in Week 9 so it's not a surprise that Hardman struggled. Although this was his third game this season with 20 yards or less, meaning a third of his games this season have had very low production. Hardman could struggle again this week as he gets a tough matchup vs. the Raiders who are allowing the third-fewest aFPA to WRs. Hardman should be viewed as a WR4 in Week 10.

KC WR Mecole Hardman - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Green Bay Packers

Mecole Hardman saw seven targets last week, which was second-most on the team. He finished with a solid 5-63, giving him at least 60 yards in three of his last four games, his only games this season hitting that mark. What's interesting is that all of those games came after the Chiefs signed Josh Gordon, who only has one catch since joining the team. It's odd that when the Chiefs brought in Gordon they suddenly started using Hardman more (57.3 ypg vs. 30.8), but that's been the case. Expect similar production from Hardman this week vs. the Packers, who are 15th in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to WRs. Hardman should be viewed as a low-end WR3 or a solid WR4 play in Week 9.

KC WR Mecole Hardman - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. New York Giants

Mecole Hardman struggled last week finishing 4-28 on five targets with a lost fumble. While the low yardage is bad, it's the third straight game he's seen at least five targets. He had just one 5+ target game in the first four weeks of the season, so he's trending to being more involved in the offense. We'd expect an uptick in production this week, mostly because it's hard to imagine Patrick Mahomes finishing with such a low yardage total again. Hardman draws a decent matchup against the Giants who are 21st in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to wide receivers. Hardman should be viewed as a low-end WR3 or a strong WR4 play in Week 8.

KC WR Mecole Hardman - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Tennessee Titans

The Chiefs weren't using Mecole Hardman much, and then they brought in Josh Gordon and started using Hardman ... more? The logic doesn't make much sense, but the production certainly tells a story. Hardman's last two games have both been season highs as he's coming off of 9-76 and 4-62 games. We wouldn't be surprised if he stayed in that range this week in a favorable matchup against the Titans who are 32nd in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to wide receivers. Assuming Hardman stays in that near-60-yard range, he should be a solid WR3 play this week vs. Tennessee.

KC WR Mecole Hardman - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Washington Football Team

The logical assumption for last week would be that Mecole Hardman's usage would go down with the arrival of Josh Gordon. Instead, Hardman set season highs in targets (12), receptions (9) and yards (76). It's a weird stat line considering Gordon's arrival, the fact it was a tough matchup and that Hardman hasn't done much this year, averaging 30.8 yards in the four games prior. We'll see if he can keep it up this week in a favorable matchup against Washington. Hardman should be viewed as a lower-end WR3 or a high-end WR4 play in Week 6.
