Two weeks after his abysmal 3-for-8 field goal performance in the team’s scrimmage, Packers K Mason Crosby went 3-for-3, including a solidly hit 48-yarder.
It was the kind of performance Crosby needed, especially after he didn’t get any chances to kick in the preseason opener against Arizona. This may have helped him gain an edge over challenger Giorgio Tavecchio, who missed a 49-yarder and went 1-for-2.
“I’ve just got to build off of that,” Crosby said. “I hit my 48-yarder as well as I wanted to.”
The Packers kicker will be highly-sought in drafts, but if it remains Crosby, his struggles last season and early camp shouldn't be forgotten...
2016 Fantasy Outlook
Since taking over as Green Bay's kicker in 2007, Crosby has not attempted fewer than 28 field goals in a season (the total he had last season). He did make 24 and was 4-of-5 on field goals of more than 50 yards. His PAT's dipped to a career-low 36 last season, but Crosby is as solid as they come. His ADP places him ninth among kickers, which sounds perfectly reasonable.
