Scouting report

HOU TE Darren Fells - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Green Bay Packers
With Jordan Akins missing the past two games, Darren Fells has put up some good numbers. In the loss to the Titans last week he snagged six passes for 85 yards and a TD – his third score of the season and second straight week he's been in the end zone. He came into last Sunday’s contest with only 12 targets and eight grabs in ’20. If Akins is out again, Fells makes for a sneaky TE start versus a Packers defense that is No. 14 against the pass.

HOU TE Darren Fells - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 – Darren Fells at Kansas City Chiefs
In his first year with the Texans, Darren Fells caught a career-high 34 passes, with seven of them going for scores. He’s a huge target, so it’s no surprise Deshaun Watson looks his way in the red zone. Unfortunately for Fells owners, Watson has several other weapons, making the TE’s value mostly in finding the end zone. Look elsewhere for your Week 1 starter.

HOU TE Darren Fells - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Tennessee Titans
In the win at Tampa last Saturday, Darren Fells finished with three receptions for 27 yards, his highest totals since Week 8. He hasn’t scored in three straight and the Titans held him to just a two-yard reception a couple weeks ago. Look elsewhere for your starting TE.

HOU TE Darren Fells - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Even with Deshaun Watson passing for over 240 yards and two scores last week against the Titans, Darren Fells ended up with just a two-yard reception. In the last six contests Fells has totaled only eight grabs. Sure, his seven scores on the season are enticing, but he’s become a TD or bust option. Even against a poor Bucs pass defense he makes for a risky fantasy start.

HOU TE Darren Fells - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Tennessee Titans
Although Deshaun Watson threw 50 times for nearly 300 yards last week, Darren Fells came away with just two catches for two yards. Sure, he’s been a TD-maker this season, but he has just seven grabs during his past five games. Look elsewhere for your starting TE.

HOU TE Darren Fells - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Denver Broncos
After totaling only two receptions and not finding the end zone the previous two games, Darren Fells scored his seventh TD of the season versus the Patriots last Sunday night. He finished with two grabs for 23 yards but remains a red-zone weapon with a quarter of his catches resulting in touchdowns in ’19. Due to his lack of touches recently Fells remains a risky start, as he’s recorded only five receptions the past four outings.

HOU TE Darren Fells - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. New England Patriots
Even though Deshaun Watson threw for nearly 300 yards last Thursday versus Indianapolis, Darren Fells ended up with just a 24-yard grab. In the past three games, he’s received a total of eight targets and caught only passes. He has six TDs in ’19 but is a risky fantasy play due to his recent lack of production.
