HOU TE Darren Fells - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Indianapolis Colts
Last Sunday was a tough game for the entire Texans team, with Darren Fells seeing only three targets from Deshaun Watson. The TE caught just an 18-yard pass in the humiliating defeat. In the past two outings Fells has seen just six targets, resulting in two receptions. In Week 7 he was held to two grabs for 27 yards by the Colts, who have the No. 11 pass defense.

HOU TE Darren Fells - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Baltimore Ravens
What a run it’s been recently for Darren Fells. In the five contests prior to the off week, he registered 17 receptions, with five of them resulting in TDs. The big target has six scores on the season and will continue to be a red-zone threat. The Bengals TE Tyler Eifert posted his team’s lone TD last week versus Baltimore, but Fells should still be considered more of a TE2 start.

HOU TE Darren Fells - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
What a roller-coaster October it was for Darren Fells. He started the month with a two-TD game and followed that up with a 69-yard outing the next week. Then he was held to only two catches for 27 yards two Sundays ago, but rebounded from that subpar performance in a big way versus the Raiders, snagging six balls for 58 yards and two more scores, including the game-winner. Of the Houston TEs Fells has become the one to own, especially with his 6’7” frame making him a nice red-zone target.

HOU TE Darren Fells - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Oakland Raiders
After registering two TDs and 69 yards the previous two outings, Darren Fells was targeted just twice by Deshaun Watson last week. The big TE caught both balls for 27 yards in the loss at Indy, but the outing was rather disappointing, considering Watson threw for over 300 yards. Fells and fellow TE Jordan Akins are each receiving a few looks per game, devaluing both.

HOU TE Darren Fells - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Indianapolis Colts
Following up his Week 5 two-TD performance, Darren Fells led the Texans with a season-high 69 yards on six grabs in the win over the Chiefs last Sunday. The big TE has been targeted just 20 times on the year but he’s become a force in the Houston offense the past couple weeks. In spite of the sudden emergence, Fells should be used as only a TE2 option.

HOU TE Darren Fells - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at New Orleans Saints
The veteran Darren Fells will be the Texans starting TE in the opener. He is playing with his fourth team in four years and has just 68 receptions during his career. In the past two seasons, with the Lions and Browns, Fells has made the most of his catches, scoring six times on 28 grabs. At 6’7” he’s a great red-zone target, but is just too risky to be a part of your fantasy starting lineup.

DET TE Darren Fells - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Cleveland Browns

With Matthew Stafford having success throwing to his WRs last Monday night at Green Bay, Darren Fells was only targeted once, resulting in a 10-yard reception. In the past two games, the Detroit TE has just 2 catches for 22 yards, after scoring three times in the previous two contests. Cleveland is No. 17 versus the pass, but Stafford has a lot of options to throw to, making Fells more of a TE2 option.
