Giants WR Sterling Shepard (ankle) took limited practice reps Wednesday. In the two games before his injury (in Week 5), Shepard caught 12 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown on 15 targets. With both Odell Beckham and Brandon Marshall out for the year, Shepard and tight end Evan Engram should serve as the primary targets for Eli Manning. It’s not a particularly good matchup against the Rams (No. 7 in WR aFPA), but Shepard’s projected volume should be enough to compensate, provided he can play.

Week 5 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Brandon Marshall was targeted 10 times last week against the Bucs, but only gained 46 yards on 6 receptions. Marshall has been disappointing as he tries to acclimate to the Giants offense and he’s struggled to get separation.
This week, he’ll face a surprisingly effective Chargers pass defense allowing only 192 passing yards per game to opposing teams. Until we see consistent production from Marshall, or unless Odell Beckham Jr. misses the game, Marshall is probably better left on your bench.
