Week 9 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Wednesday

Browns QB Cody Kessler (concussion) practiced fully Wednesday. According to beat writer Scott Petrak, Kessler is expected to start in Week 9 if he can clear the concussion protocol. He’s practicing fully, so it looks good.

Giants QB Ryan Nassib (right elbow) took limited practice reps Wednesday.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (knee) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Roethlisberger is on track to play, though it’s a tough matchup against the Ravens. Roethlisberger has one passing touchdown in his last three trips to Baltimore.

Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) did not practice Wednesday.

Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (left shoulder) practiced fully Wednesday. Siemian should be able to play through the injury, and he has a great matchup against the Raiders.

Chiefs QB Alex Smith (head, ear) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Smith apparently won’t play in Week 9. Nick Foles will get the start against the Jaguars, who are decent against the pass. Foles isn’t a bad streaming option after doing pretty well against the Colts (223 yards and two touchdowns on 22 attempts).
