The process of streaming defenses is an uncomfortable one while in the draft room. You watch everyone else grab one, some likely reaching to be the first to get an “elite” defense. Then it comes to you in the final round, picking through the scraps. You likely won't stick with that selection for more than a few weeks and will continuously play matchups throughout the season. Streaming defenses are not nearly as scary as some will make them out to be. People love to talk about how defenses (and kickers) don’t matter, but every year, someone starts a run in the draft before the final two rounds on kickers and defense.
Do not give in. Personally, I’ve found that adding that late-round running back or a breakout receiver in preseason has a far bigger impact on my season than the defense I drafted early and then had to drop as soon as it faces an elite offense or heads on bye.
