Fantasy Football Multiverse: Alexander Mattison Isn't a Sure Thing in 2023

Alexander Mattison Isn't a Sure Thing

The idea of the multiverse is fascinating to me. You change one small thing in one timeline, and it breaks off and affects things down the road in profound ways. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), that has Earth-shattering, Thanos-snapping implications. In fantasy football, it’s just my fancy way of saying that a range of outcomes exists. My goal for this series is to pick a player from each team that is either polarizing or interesting in some other way.

In this edition, we're turning our attention to Alexander Mattison, the understudy running back for the Minnesota Vikings. Mattison has spent his career in the shadow of Dalvin Cook, performing well when called upon. His potential in fantasy football this year is a topic of debate, given his limited opportunities and mixed performances. As we navigate through this edition of the multiverse, we'll explore one of the many possible outcomes that could unfold for Mattison in the upcoming season. On the agenda for today:

  • Looking Ahead to 2023
