I’ve never known what period of the Gregorian calendar the phrase “the dog days of summer” officially refers to, but I know we in the U.S. are in them right now.

It’s times like these that we escape to lakes and pools to keep cool, and I’m going to ask you now to not judge your fellow water activity aficionados. I know, the doggie-paddle is maybe the least sexy-looking or smooth swimming form, but we’re all trying to get through these sweltering months as best we can.
