NBA Best Bets: 2 Bets & Another Look to the Future

Happy hump day! We have a loaded schedule tonight as we head into the final third of the season, but, I had so much fun giving out a futures bet last time, so why not do it again? Looking back to the trade deadline, I loved the Nuggets' acquisition of Aaron Gordon, but I wanted to see a few games of him playing for his new team before making any wagers. He’s fit in seamlessly and during those few games, we learned LeBron James and Anthony Davis will continue to be out for at least another four weeks. This opens up a spot in the top three of the Western Conference and a chance to have to face only one Los Angeles team in the playoffs. Denver already had one of the most formidable rosters, but Gordon offers them a strong defensive player who contributes offensively, especially on the fast break, without requiring high usage. They’re +1300 to win the West on FanDuel. I expect them to have a manageable path to the Western Conference finals and at that number, we’ll have a chance to buy out/hedge as early as round two of the playoffs.
