DraftKings Week 2 Cash Game Breakdown
After just one week of NFL action, it can be difficult to sift through the rubble and determine which performances were an aberration and what trends from Week 1 might stick. It’s always important to consider sample size when dealing with any sort of data, but we also only have 17 samples in the NFL season, so we have to make decisions quickly.
In order to block out some of the noise, I have created a set of DraftKings cash game guidelines for 4for4 DFS subscribers. These guidelines are especially helpful as reminders early in the season to help us pinpoint trends while the public is waiting to see “what’s real.” Common adages such as “efficiency over volume” for quarterbacks and “target targets” for wide receivers should steer your decisions early in the season and throughout the coming weeks and will be the basis for this column all season.
With that in mind, let’s jump into my favorite DraftKings cash game plays for Week 2
QB Eli Manning $7,600 vs NO
Don’t be alarmed by Manning’s somewhat underwhelming performance in Week 1 in a game that some expected to be a shootout against the Cowboys. The Giants ran the fourth fewest plays of any team last week and Eli was one of just six quarterbacks to throw fewer than 30 passes, but still finished as the 10th overall fantasy scorer at his position. On a per attempt basis, only three quarterbacks bested Manning’s 0.69 fantasy points per throw.
Now, the Giants signal caller will face off against arguably the worst defense in the league who just lost Delvin Breaux, the closest thing the Saints had to an NFL-caliber cornerback. New York is favored by 4.5 points and boasts the second-highest implied point total of the week in a game that will set the scoreboard ablaze.
