Stacking the Deck: FanDuel & DraftKings Stacks for Week 1

Welcome back to Stacking the Deck.

This season at 4for4 we will be providing subscribers with Value Reports and Stack Value Reports that value every stack in terms of projected points/$. We also use our Adjusted Fantasy Points Against (aFPA) metric, which has been adjusted to reflect offseason transactions, heavily in the column.

What’s new this year is we know have the have the advantage of putting into practice two great offseason studies from my colleague, Senior DFS Editor, Chris Raybon: The Definitive Guide to Stacking on FanDuel and The Definitive Guide to Stacking on DraftKings.

The goal of stacking is to create a high ceiling for your tournament lineup. Don’t be afraid to take a stand on a situation you like that may be a contrarian play -- it may just help you separate yourself from upwards of 80% of the field. We are going to focus on positive correlations in this column, but also put a higher emphasis on leverage plays in GPPs this season.

The following are my top stacks for Week 1 on both FanDuel and DraftKings:

FanDuel Stacks

Russell Wilson ($8,500) & Doug Baldwin ($6,700) vs. MIA

Quarterback and WR1 have a .45 correlation on FanDuel, the strongest of all positions. Seattle is a home favorite, but the point total of 44 is in the bottom half. Wilson has the second-highest ceiling and fifth-highest floor in our projections. According to our aFPA metric, the Miami defense is ranked 24th against quarterbacks and 29th against wide receivers. The Wilson-Baldwin stack is our #13 ranked stack on our FanDuel Stack Value Reports. Wilson is a nice leverage play off some more popular options at quarterback this week.
