GB WR Randall Cobb - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. New Orleans Saints

Randall Cobb had just 3 catches for 28 yards last week and now hasn't recorded more than 44 yards since Week 2. That's not a good sign. Brett Hundley's insertion into the lineup for an injured Aaron Rodgers hurts all of the receivers. He's probably not worth using as anything more than a flex option until we see how Hundley uses him.

GB WR Randall Cobb - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Minnesota Vikings

Randall Cobb had just 4 receptions for 29 yards last week and how has just 8 catches in the past two games. He's been a little hit-and-miss thus far this season but it's tough to bet against any of Green Bay's top three receivers. Use Cobb this week as a low-end WR3 or flex play and hope the Vikings do enough offensively to keep the Packers throwing the ball.

GB WR Randall Cobb - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Dallas Cowboys

Cobb returned after taking a week off and caught 4 passes for 44 yards and a touchdown last week against the Bears. The Packers didn't throw the ball a lot, but did so efficiently. They should have to throw it a little more this week and Cobb should see plenty of action as the Cowboys haven't been great against the pass this season, ranking in the middle of the pack. Cobb should see enough action to make him a WR2, especially in PPR leagues.

GB WR Randall Cobb - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Chicago Bears

Randall Cobb sat out last week with a chest injury but returned to practice on Tuesday. That means he's likely to play against the Bears this week, which obviously bumps his value up and that of Geronimo Allison down. There's always the danger he'll leave early since he's still coming back from an injury, but assuming he does play, he's a WR3 start in all formats based on his production in Weeks 1 and 2.

GB WR Randall Cobb - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Randall Cobb's resurgence continued last week with six receptions for 60 yards and 1 carry for another 10. He still hasn't scored this season but already has 15 catches. However, Cobb is dealing with chest and shoulder injuries, which have kept him out of practice all week. Check his status Friday. He could wind up being a game-time decision. But you have to be careful with the injury. If Cobb doesn't play, give Geronimo Allison a slight bump.

GB WR Randall Cobb - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Atlanta Falcons

Hey, Randall Cobb IS still relevant. He led the Packers with 13 targets last week, catching 9 passes for 85 yards against a tough Seattle defense. Considering how tough Atlanta had things handling Chicago's smaller receivers last week, Cobb could find some room to roam again this week. Don't necessarily expect 13 targets again this week, but it looks like Cobb is back in the mix after being ignored at times last season. Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams are still going to be the main red zone targets, but Cobb is a sneaky start in PPR leagues as a No. 3 receiver.

GB WR Randall Cobb - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Randall Cobb was often the forgotten man last season for the Packers, and his 2016 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks was one of those times he was forgotten. Cobb managed just 3 catches for 33 yards in that game. Cobb had just four touchdowns all of last season, as Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams combined for 26. This isn't a great matchup for Cobb this week. He should be used as a No. 3 or flex option, at best, and hope that he and Aaron Rodgers used the offseason to reacquaint themselves.

GB WR Randall Cobb - 2017 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Randall Cobb remains the slot receiver in one of the most dynamic passing games in the NFL. He also ranked in the top 10 in the league in percentage of targets caught and yards after the catch last season. Jordy Nelson is getting up in age, and while Davante Adams has emerged in the offense, Cobb has a nice rapport with Aaron Rodgers.

Fantasy Downside

Cobb is clearly slipped to the No. 3 spot in the order, as can be seen from his targets—129 in 16 games in 2015 to 84 in 13 games in 2016. He also averaged just 10.4 yards per catch last season and has seen his TDs fall from a career-high 12 in 2014 to just 4 last season. The emergence of Ty Montgomery as the primary ball-carrier also hurts Cobb's value since he runs a lot of the same patterns.

2017 Bottom Line

Cobb was considered a high-end No. 2 to low-end No. 1 receiver just two years ago, but the emergence of other players and the return of Nelson have rendered him much more of a flex player at this point. That being said, he's got a lot more upside as a flex option playing in this offense than your typical player in that position. His current ADP has him going in rounds 8—10, which sounds about right. He's still just 26, and if Nelson or Adams were to miss time, you could be looking at a fantasy star once again.

GB WR Randall Cobb - Week 20, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

NFC Championship at Atlanta
Just when you thought you could completely write off Randall Cobb in Green Bay's offense, he has re-emerged as a solid contributor in the postseason. After a monster game in the Wild Card round, he had a solid 7-62-0 on eight targets last week. He didn't have three touchdowns as he did the previous week, but with Jordy Nelson likely to have just a limited role if he does play, Cobb could find plenty of room to work underneath against a soft Atlanta defense. He's especially valuable this week in PPR leagues.

GB WR Randall Cobb - Week 19, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Divisional Round at Dallas
Nice to have you back Randall Cobb. Cobb only got seven targets last week, but had an outstanding line of 5-116-3 in his comeback from sitting out several weeks with an ankle injury. The Packers will need another strong effort this week with Jordy Nelson likely out. Cobb had seven catches for 53 yards and a score against Dallas earlier this season and we can see a similar workload this week that will make him more valuable in PPR leagues. Cobb should be a decent No. 1 start and very solid No. 2 start.
