PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 17, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at New York Giants

Zach Ertz is really starting to show his fantasy potential. Ertz finished last week with a line of 13-122-0 (17) and over his last three weeks has a total of 26 catches for 298 yards and a TD on 37 targets. Outside of the five TDs Jordan Reed put up in his last three games, Ertz's catches and yardage totals are right up there with Reed's since Week 14.

This week, it's another favorable matchup as the Giants are 27th in allowing points to the position and this is shaping up to be a high-scoring game. Ertz's role in the offense shouldn't change even with Chip Kelly no longer the coach. The offense shouldn't change a whole lot overall for the final game and Ertz is a TE1 option this week. As for Ertz's future, it again looks pretty bright, but we've been down this road before. Keep in mind a lot of Ertz's totals have been because the Eagles have been behind on the scoreboard and his main issue keeping him off the field has been his blocking. But he's certainly shaping up to be a possible TE1 option in 2016.

PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Washington
Zach Ertiz had eight catches for 78 yards and a TD last week and was targeted a season-high 13 times. Ertz is finally starting to show his potential, something that owners were looking for dating back to last year. He has two TDs over his last three games and his last two games he's total a line of 13-176-1 (20), so the team is starting to look his way a lot more than they were in the beginning and middle of the season. This week's matchup is a tough one as the Skins are second in allowing points to TEs, but Ertz is at least the second most productive target on the team so there's some upside there.

PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Arizona
Zach Ertz caught five balls for 98 yards on seven targets last week. It was his highest yardage output this season. Ertz had an impressive 40-plus yard catch where he broke a tackle, plowed over another defender before dragging a third guy as far as he could. It's the type of play and production we expected from Ertz coming into this season. It's not a bad matchup this week against the Cards who are 21st in allowing points to the position but Ertz is just a low-end TE2 in our rankings.

PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 14, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Bills
Zach Ertz caught two balls for nine yards and a TD last week in what was a tough matchup on paper against the Pats. Ertz was making some progress from a core injury to start the season before a concussion in Week 11 sidelined him the rest of the game and all of Week 12. He's a guy to keep an eye on at the position because of a pretty favorable playoff matchup next week in Week 15, but this week he's ranked 20th because the Bills are second in allowing fantasy points to TEs. Ertz is too risky of a play this week.

PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Tampa Bay
Zach Ertz caught seven balls for 68 yards last week on 10 targets. All of which were season-high in terms of fantasy production. Ertz continues to be more involved in the offense and has put together a string of four pretty decent fantasy performances. Ertz is still ranked as a TE2 option this week as the Bucs are 12th in allowing fantasy points to the position. Also last week, Brent Celek kind of stole the show from Ertz with a 4-134-0 (4) line, so owners will still have to deal with Celek stealing some work.

PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 10, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs Miami
Zach Ertz caught five balls for 44 yards on six targets last week. Over his last four games, he's averaging about five catches for over 50 yards per game on seven targets. He said he's finally healthy after the Week 8 bye, so the hope is he continues to trend up. For now, he's just a TE2 option, but he has a four-week stretch starting this week with favorable matchups so keep an eye on his progress.

PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 9, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Dallas
Zach Ertz has proclaimed himself healthy following a core injury in the preseason. Ertz is coming off his best statistical game of the season last week with five catches for 63 yards on eight targets. This week, he has a tough matchup against the Cowboys, who are fifth in allowing fantasy points to TEs. Ertz can't be trusted as anything more than a TE2 play, but he's a guy to watch if you need help at the position. If he is back to 100 percent, he should start to get more involved in the offense.

Thursday, November 5, 2015 - 10:58pm
PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Carolina
Zach Ertz caught four balls for 43 yards last week on seven targets. He has nine catches for 103 yards on 14 targets over the past two weeks. The Eagles are using him more (season-high 86 percent of snaps in Week 6), but he hasn't put up the breakout game we thought we'd see by now. This week it's the Panthers in a decent matchup as Carolina is 13th in fantasy allowed points to TEs. Ertz is more of a lower-end TE2 play and should probably be avoided in typical leagues.

Thursday, October 22, 2015 - 8:23pm
PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs Dallas
Zach Ertz had a season-high five catches for 60 yards on seven targets last week, as the Eagles went to more two-TE sets and it seemed to ignite the offense. Brent Celek was on the receiving end of a TD however. Still, Ertz comes in as a high-end TE2 option this week and may be trending in the right direction after a slow start, while also battling a core injury. It's a great matchup this week as the G-men are 30th in allowing fantasy points to TEs so the Eagles may again use two TEs as part of their game plan. Ertz has a chance to out-perform his ranking this week.

Thursday, October 15, 2015 - 5:51pm
PHI TE Zach Ertz - Week 5, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. New Orleans
Zach Ertz caught just two balls for 11 yards last week on three targets. It hasn't been a good year, again, for those who thought Ertz would have a big fantasy season, as he's just not getting targeted. He could still be dealing with the core body injury, but the poor play of the offensive line is another factor limiting his snaps, as he's given way to Brent Celek, who is a much better blocker. Ertz has a nice matchup this week as the Saints are 30th in allowing fantasy points to TEs, but he's just an average TE2 option in our rankings and should probably be avoided.
