Week 15 at Los Angeles Rams
The defending Super Bowl champs continue to suffer major injuries to starting positions, with the latest in the form of a back injury for Carson Wentz. Insert the Super Bowl MVP against his former team, as Nick Foles comes back to the spotlight. The Rams are just 23rd in aFPA to WRs this season, and this game has an over/under of more than 50, but the Eagles have an implied team total of less than 20. Extreme negative game script could mean high-volume passing. You don't need more reasons to start Zach Ertz, but there you go anyway.
Week 14 at Dallas Cowboys
The Eagles head to Dallas for a pivotal division match-up. Philadelphia has an implied team total of just 20.25 points, in the bottom third for Week 14 against a strong Cowboys defense. Despite this, Ertz continues to be an elite option at his position and should be started without hesitation.
Week 13 vs. Washington Redskins
The Philadelphia - Washington game has a low over/under of just 45 points. The Eagles are home favorites against a backup quarterback, which could lead to more rushing volume than usual this week. Washington is top 10 in aFPA to TEs, but Zach Ertz should be safe, as usual. In his last three games against this team, he's averaged 7.7 receptions, 98 yards and 0.33 touchdowns. He's an elite talent. You're always starting him.
Week 12 vs. New York Giants
The Eagles offense was embarrassed in the Superdome last week, but there are indications of a bounce back this week. Philadelphia has an above average implied team total of 26 points. Despite Zach Ertz worst game of the season, he belongs in lineups each and every week. Let's not overthink this, people. He's in the top tier of tight ends with Travis Kelce.
Week 11 at New Orleans Saints
The Eagles are riding the struggle bus lately, but a stop at Superdome station is always a good place to cure what ails in fantasy. A suspected shootout Sunday has the Eagles with an implied team total of more than 23 points, despite being eight-point underdogs. Plus, the Saints are a pass funnel defense, ranking fourth in aFPA to RBs. It doesn't hurt that Zach Ertz is a monster either, currently on pace for a season line of 133-1403-9 on 178 targets. For perspective, only Marvin Harrison, Julio Jones and Antonio Brown have had more than 130 receptions in an NFL season. Sweet Moses.
Week 10 at Oakland Raiders
The Eagles have an implied team total of 25.25 points this week -respectable, but not elite. Philadelphia is a touchdown favorite at home, which should lead to positive game script. With the Eagles adding Golden Tate into the mix this week, it's hard to predict what impact (if any) that will have on Zach Ertz. Ertz was held in check by Dallas last season, but he's an elite TE. You're starting him every week.
Week 8 at Jacksonville Jaguars (London)
The Eagles go across the pond to take on the Jaguars in their second home with an implied team total of just 23.5 points with the second-lowest over/under of Week 8 for this game. The Jaguars are top ten in aFPA to TEs. However, Ertz has been a fantasy TE superstar this season. Don't overthink the match-up. You start him every week without blinking.
Week 7 vs. Carolina Panthers
Here are Alshon Jeffery's targets each game since returning from injury: nine, eight, 12. Meanwhile, Zach Ertz has maintained his huge role in the offense with targets of 14, 11 and nine. These two run the Carson Wentz show in Philadelphia, making Ertz an elite tight end option in fantasy each and every week.
Week 6 at New York Giants (Thursday)
Zach Ertz has been everything fantasy owners had hoped and more. If he were a WR, he'd be ranked as a high-end WR2 each week. He has posted double-digit targets every week this season, three 100-yard games and at least five receptions in each. With an offense this good, we expect positive touchdown regression too. He's only scored once, but TDs should be coming. He's locked in as an elite fantasy option each week.
Week 5 vs. Minnesota Vikings
The Eagles have an average implied team total this week, and Alshon Jeffery is likely to see CB Xavier Rhodes in coverage. Plus, with the Vikings using a lot of zone blitz, that should open the middle of the field for Ertz. This man has been a fantasy owner's dream this season. Even with Alshon Jeffery back last week, Ertz still saw 14 targets for 112 yards on ten receptions. Amazing stuff at a brutally depleted position. He's a weekly free space in starting lineups.
