CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Is Trey Burton a goose? Because he laid an egg last week. Ever since his 126-yard game against the Patriots in Week 7, Burton has a COMBINED 123 yards in the six games that followed. That's an average of just 21 yards.

At one point in the season, you could consider Burton as a mid-tier TE1, but that's not the case anymore. He's still a low-end TE1 this week against the Rams, but that says more about the tight end market than it does about Burton.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Trey Burton at New York Giants

Trey Burton caught four of his seven targets last week for 28 yards. He's now finished below 30 yards in seven of his 10 games this season. He's scored five times, but his lack of production without touchdowns has to be worrisome for fantasy owners.

He carries some PPR value since he saw seven targets with Chase Daniel last week, but he's not much more than a low-end TE1 option at this point.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Detroit Lions

Trey Burton had just one lone target, and one lone catch for nine yards last week. After his 126-yard effort vs. the Patriots, Burton has had 95 yards total in the four games following that. In short, he hasn't been very good.

Burton is on his way to becoming a TD-or-bust TE option, but he does get a great matchup this week vs. Detroit. He can be viewed as a low-end TE1 choice.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Trey Burton caught four passes for 40 yards last week. It's nothing too special, but it was his fourth-highest yardage output of the season. Most of Burton's value in 2018 has been from scoring touchdowns and he'll face a Vikings defense this week that's only allowed three scores to the position.

Still, Burton is one of the few tight ends putting up production on a (mostly) weekly basis. He can be viewed as a TE1 option.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Detroit Lions

Trey Burton was mostly a bust last week, catching two passes for 28 yards. He did score a cheap touchdown, however, so his production wasn't all bad. He's now scored five times this season, including four in his last five games. He's also had five games below 30 receiving yards.

At this point, Burton is mostly a touchdown-or-bust option at tight end. He faces a Detroit defense that has allowed a score to a TE in half of its games, so perhaps Burton has a good shot at a score. He can be viewed as a low-end TE1 option in Week 10.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Buffalo Bills

Trey Burton went 3-18 on four targets last week, making it the third time he's had 20 or fewer yards this season. He's been mostly good this season, though, as he's averaging around 50 yards per game and has scored in four matchups.

He could struggle this week against Buffalo, who are allowing the ninth-fewest fantasy points to opposing TEs. However, the TE market is shallow, and several big-name tight ends are on bye this week, so Burton can remain a TE1 option in Week 9.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. New York Jets

Trey Burton exploded last week for his best game of the season, seeing season highs in receptions (9), targets (11) and yards (126). He also scored a touchdown in his third straight game.

He gets a somewhat decent matchup this week against the Jets. New York hasn't allowed too many points to the position, but they also haven't played too many big-name tight ends. Burton should be fine, and can be viewed as a TE1 option.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. New England Patriots

Trey Burton has finished below 25 yards three times this season, but he's also scored three touchdowns. He's been the 12th-highest scoring tight end in fantasy, and that's even with a bye week included. So even though the yards may not always be there, his red zone ability makes him very valuable.

This week he gets a favorable matchup against the Patriots, who have allowed the ninth-most fantasy points against opposing TEs. We like Burton in the low-end TE1 range.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Miami Dolphins

Trey Burton put up a season high in receiving yards (86) in Chicago's last outing, while also scoring his second TD of the season. He only had two receptions in the game, but his four targets were still promising. Burton hasn't been spectacular, but he's at least been mostly productive every week in a shallow tight end market.

He faces a Dolphins defense this week that hasn't allowed a TD to a TE this season, but did allow over 100 yards to the position in Week 1. Burton can be viewed as a low-end TE1 choice vs. Miami.

CHI TE Trey Burton - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Trey Burton led the Bears in receiving (55 yards) last week and is second on the team in receiving yards this season (90). Burton hasn't found much success, but part of that could just be Mitch Trubisky having low numbers overall.

In Week 4, Burton gets a strong matchup against the Bucs, who have surprisingly allowed the most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. On average, Tampa Bay is allowing a league-high 109 yards per game to TEs. The Bucs have also allowed 25 receptions to TEs, which ties for the league lead. We like Burton as a TE1 play vs. Tampa Bay.
