WAS TE Jordan Reed - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 - Reed vs. Tennessee
Jordan Reed saw his first action since getting injured in Week 1. He caught eight balls for 92 yards on 11 targets. All pretty impressive numbers in a tough matchup.

This week's matchup looks even better as the Titans are ranked 24th in allowing fantasy points to TEs. Reed, and anyone at the TE position, seems to be targets of QB Kirk Cousins and that's been the case all season even with RGIII. Reed is ranked eighth this week on our TE list and looks to be a good play. He may even be on your wire yet.

WAS TE Jordan Reed - Week 1, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs Texans
One area of weakness in the Texans defense seems to be their coverage of the TE, and that could be a benefit to Jordan Reed owners.

Reed ranks 8th on our TE list this week as the Texans are just 25th in allowing fantasy points to the position. Reed makes for a pretty solid play despite the struggles of QB Robert Griffin III. We like Reed for about five catches and 55 yards. He should be one of the go-to red zone targets in this contest.

WAS TE Jordan Reed - 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

FANTASY UPSIDE
While Jordan Reed wasn’t a household name early on last season, the reports were there that the team was very high on his pass-catching ability. The first three weeks of the season he caught 13 balls for 106 yards and a TD and soon he was getting noticed. After the bye week he put up 32 catches 393 yards and 2 TDs in pretty much five games before getting hurt. Reed is emerging into one of the better offensive TEs in the league and is poised for a big year.

FANTASY DOWNSIDE
Reed did suffer a concussion last season and that’s always a concern when that’s a part of a player’s injury history. There are also a lot of mouths to feed in the Washington offense with the addition of WR DeSean Jackson and Andre Roberts to go along with Pierre Garcon.

BOTTOM LINE
Despite the above additions, all the reports out of Washington say Reed is going to have a monster year. We all know the TE position is top heavy with a lot of serviceable players after that, but Reed seems to have a big upside. We rank him 7th with an ADP of the 9th round, lumped in among: Jason Witten, Greg Olsen, Dennis Pitta, Vernon Davis and Kyle Rudolph.
