WAS RB J.D. McKissic - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Detroit Lions

J.D. McKissic saw a shocking 14 targets last week, finishing 9-65 as a receiver (he added three carries for 17 yards on the ground). McKissic has now had 6+ receptions in four of his last five games, making him a legitimate PPR option. His yards aren't always there, so his value in standard leagues is low, especially considering he has no touchdowns on the year. But if his role as a receiver continues, McKissic is a solid flex option on weeks where you need a streamer. He gets a great matchup this week against the Lions who have allowed the most fantasy points to running backs so far this season.

WAS RB J.D. McKissic - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. New York Giants

J.D. McKissic has emerged as a sneaky flex play option in PPR formats. Antonio Gibson is the better play overall, but McKissic is averaging 5.3-36.3 as a receiver over his past four games. This week he faces a Giants defense had success against just a few weeks ago with a season-high 84 scrimmage yards. We're not expecting that production again, but McKissic isn't a terrible flex play for Week 9 if you're in a PPR league.

WAS RB J.D. McKissic - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Dallas Cowboys

J.D. McKissic out-snapped (39-27), out-touched (14-13) and out-produced (84-55) Antonio Gibson last week. While logic would tell you the converted wide receiver (Gibson) would have a big role in the passing game, it's been McKissic who has dominated receptions in this backfield. McKissic has six or more receptions in three straight games, averaging 7.3 targets in that span. While we still like Gibson more, McKissic has proven to have some value as a flex play in PPR formats. However, he does face a Cowboys defense that's allowed the third-fewest receptions and fewest receiving yards to running backs this season.

WAS RB J.D. McKissic - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at New York Giants

J.D. McKissic saw a team-high eight targets last week, finishing 6-46 as a receiver. This is now back-to-back weeks where McKissic has seen eight targets, making him relevant in in full PPR leagues. Still, McKissic isn't terribly productive with no scores on the season, and a limited role as a rusher (three carries his last two games combined). He's a low-end flex play in PPR formats for Week 6 against the Giants.

WAS RB J.D. McKissic - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Los Angeles Rams

J.D. McKissic has led Washington's backfield in playing time in three of the four games this season, but he hasn't been overly productive. He was involved as a receiver last week, seeing a season-high eight targets. He finished 7-40 as a pass-catcher while seeing just two carries for six yards as a runner. While his seven receptions were nice from a PPR perspective, it was a standalone performance this season. In the first three games combined, McKissic had four total receptions. He doesn't produce enough to warrant serious fantasy consideration.

WAS RB J.D. McKissic - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Baltimore Ravens

J.D. McKissic is on the field a lot for Washington, but hasn't produced much from a fantasy perspective. He's averaging around 30-40 scrimmage yards per game and has not found the endzone all season. He's not worth fantasy consideration.

WAS RB J.D. McKissic - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Cleveland Browns

J.D. McKissic is a strong No. 2 back in this offense, finishing with eight carries for 53 yards in Week 2. However, the typical pass-catching back saw no targets in the game. McKissic is doing enough in this offense to limit Antonio Gibson, but not quite enough to make himself relevant in fantasy. He's safe to avoid in Week 3 against the Browns.

WAS RB J.D. McKissic - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Arizona Cardinals

J.D. McKissic led all Washington backs in playing time in Week 1, but finished the game with negative yardage. At this point he's just an irritant for Antonio Gibson owners. He's not worth a look in Week 2 for fantasy owners.

WAS RB J.D. McKissic - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

J.D. McKissic is listed as the starter for Washington, but there's reason to believe Antonio Gibson will have better production. After Gibson, Washington has McKissic, Bryce Love and Peyton Barber who will all likely split touches. We like McKissic more than Love and Barber, but all three should be viewed as risky plays in Week 1. Gibson is the only Washington running back worth playing this week.

DET RB J.D. McKissic - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Denver Broncos
After the Lions fell behind big to the Bucs last week, J.D. McKissic saw only three touches for nine yards before leaving in the third quarter with a stinger. Bo Scarbrough was out due to an injury, so it was Wes Hills that was given the start and received most of the team’s carries. With Scarbrough and regular starter Kerryon Johnson likely back this week, there is no reason for McKissic to even be taking up a roster spot.
