GB RB Jamaal Williams - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Carolina Panthers

Jamaal Williams continues to be a productive fantasy start and got 15 carries for 49 yards and a touchdown, while also catching 7 passes for 69 yards and another score. The Packers seem to have found their back and Williams isn't giving any ground to Aaron Jones. With Aaron Rodgers back this week, he could be even more effective. Use Williams as a low-end RB1.

Week 14 at Cleveland Browns

Jamaal Williams is winning himself a job with his efforts. He had 21 carries for 113 yards and a touchdown last week, adding 2 catches for 10 yards. That's RB1 production, and just as importantly, RB1 touches for the fourth consecutive week. Cleveland's run defense can be tough and the Browns aren't likely to give much respect to Green Bay's passing game. Use Williams as a high-end RB2 this week.

Week 13 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jamaal Williams saw a career-high 21 carries, rushing for 66 yards and a touchdown last week. He also had 4 receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown in what was a career day. Tampa Bay's defense just allowed 132 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns to the Falcons and has allowed 9 touchdowns to running backs on the ground this season. Williams should be a low-end RB1, high-end RB2 start because of the volume he's seeing.

Week 12 at Pittsburgh Steelers

With pretty much everyone else injured or losing fumbles, Jamaal Williams is the last man standing in the Green Bay running game. That gave him 18 carries for 57 yards and four receptions for 38 more last week in the loss to Baltimore. A running back who gets 20+ touches the past two weeks has value, even though the Steelers have allowed just 57 rushing yards per game since giving up 200 to Jacksonville in Week 5. Use Williams as an RB2 and hope for volume.

Week 11 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Ty Montgomery is looking like he'll miss this week's game (monitor the injury reports) and Aaron Jones has already been ruled out, giving Jamaal Williams his shot to show his worth. But he faces a tough task against Baltimore's defense, even at home. Williams had 20 carries for 67 yards against the Bears last week. The Ravens don't figure to have a ton of respect for Brett Hundley's passing ability and will load up to slow the running game. Williams will get enough volume to be an RB2 but don't expect a huge day.

GB RB Jamaal Williams - 2017 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Jamaal Williams will head into the season as the No. 2 back in Green Bay's offense behind Ty Montgomery. When James Starks previously held that role, he was typically good for 5-0 carries per game. Remember, too, that Montgomery hasn't been a running back for a full season. Williams could wind up being a top handcuff.

Fantasy Downside

Williams is unproven at the NFL level and the roles aren't clearly defined in Green Bay just yet. There are enough question marks here to possibly keep you from pulling the trigger.

2017 Bottom Line

Williams appears to be the best bet to back-up Montgomery, which would give him some value. But unless Montgomery falters or is injured, it won't be enough to help you on a week-to-week basis. Keep him on your radar, especially if you draft Montgomery.
