GB RB Jamaal Williams - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs Minnesota

Williams took over the starting role in Week 7 against Houston while Aaron Jones sat out with a calf injury. Williams delivered in a major way as he finished with 19 carries for 77 yards and one touchdown and he also turned five targets into four receptions for 37 yards. Most importantly, Williams saw a true workhorse role in Jones’ absence as he out-touched second-round rookie AJ Dillion by a count of 23 to 5.

A Week 8 contest against the Minnesota Vikings shows promise, as they are ranked 14th in aFPA to RBs this season and they traded away Pro Bowl DE Yannick Ngakoue over the bye week. In their Week 1 matchup, Minnesota gave up a total of 23 carries for 87 yards and one touchdown to both Williams and Jones, and the backfield saw a total of 10 targets for eight receptions. With only Williams expected to play, there will be plenty of touches and opportunity to keep him as a solid RB1 in this matchup.

GB RB Jamaal Williams - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

strong>Week 7 at Houston

Williams finished his week against Tampa Bay with four carries for 34 yards. The Bucs defense did not allow Green Bay to get much of anything going, so understandably Williams saw his lowest touch total of the season. Even still, do not expect anything more than RB4 numbers from him this week against Houston.

GB RB Jamaal Williams - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Tampa Bay

Williams had a big receiving game before the bye week against Atlanta as he caught all eight of his targets for 95 yards. In what was a fluke game for Aaron Jones’ direct backup, the return of WR Davante Adams should render Williams’ opportunities back to the norm. Williams makes a desperate flex play this week.

GB RB Jamaal Williams - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Detroit

To no one’s surprise, Williams was a solid part of the Green Bay offense as he finished the game with seven rushing attempts for 21 yards and caught all four of his targets for 21 yards. The Green Bay coaching staff has yet to fully commit to Aaron Jones, and without any strong options behind Davante Adams, Williams will still find receiving work on the field. Williams will continue to be a viable FLEX option with touchdown-dependent RB2 appeal.

GB RB Jamaal Williams - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Detroit Lions
Jamaal Williams was limited to six carries for 33 yards and two catches for 19 last week before exiting with a shoulder injury. The Packers are playing for a bye this week, so Williams could sit and allow Aaron Jones to get all the carries as Williams gets ready for the playoffs. Check his status Friday. If he does play, it's a juicy matchup. Williams could be a low-end RB2/high-end flex if he plays.

GB RB Jamaal Williams - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Minnesota Vikings
Jamaal Williams has seen his touches shrink the past couple of weeks, getting just eight carries for 27 yards and one catch for seven yards last week as his snap count fell to 24. That seems to be where the coaching staff would like it as the Packers push for a division title. Because of that, Williams shouldn't be in your lineup as anything more than a low-end flex option this week.

GB RB Jamaal Williams - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Chicago Bears
With Aaron Jones running well last week, Jamaal Williams only got seven carries for 24 yards and one target that he didn't catch. But previous weeks show that there's enough meat on the bone for both Green Bay running backs, though Williams is clearly No. 2. As such, he's more of a flex play than Aaron Jones.

GB RB Jamaal Williams - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Washington Redskins
It's pretty much a true timeshare in Green Bay with the only thing separating Jamaal Williams from Aaron Jones is the fact Jones gets the bulk of the goal line touches. Williams was the more effective back last week, gaining 45 yards on 10 carries and catching four passes for another 26. That gave him just one fewer touch than Jones, but Williams had 71 yards compared to 31 for Jones. Williams is at least a flex option each week given his workload.

GB RB Jamaal Williams - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. New York Giants
Jamaal Williams was the only Packer other than Davante Adams to do much of anything last week against San Francisco, gaining 45 yards on 11 carries and catching seven passes for 35 yards. Some of that was in garbage time, but you don't care about that. Williams is getting enough touches to be a solid flex option each week and should be so against the Giants.

GB RB Jamaal Williams - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at San Francisco 49ers
Jamaal Williams matched Aaron Jones in Green Bay's last game before the bye with 13 touches. He even gained 63 yards for his best rushing game since Week 6. But that was as much about the score of that game than it was anything else. Williams is the complimentary back here and against San Francisco's defense, which probably doesn't make him anything more than a flex play.
