Week 14 at Tennessee Titans
Evan Engram delivered his most productive game for weeks against the Lions in Week 13. Engram was targeted seven times, catching five passes for a mere 30 yards. But he did find the end zone for just the second time this season and finished with 11.5 Half PPR points, good for TE4 for the week.
Engram gets another fairly friendly matchup against the Titans in Week 14. The Titans have allowed the 12th most receptions to tight ends this season but also the fifth most receiving yards. They rank 25th in aFPA to tight ends. With six teams on a bye this week, it's probably safe to project Engram to finish as a TE1. But we've been let down before.
Week 13 at Detroit Lions
Evan Engram would appear to have gone missing of late, which was particularly evident against the Ravens in Week 12. Engram caught 100% of his targets, but 100% of one is only one, and it gained him just four yards. Over his last three games, Engram has five receptions for 26 yards combined and has slipped to TE24 in fantasy points per game.
Engram might be able to get back on track in Week 13 with a friendly-looking matchup against the Lions. The Lions rank 30th in aFPA to tight ends this season, allowing 56 yards per game to tight ends along with seven receiving scores. Still, it's hard to get too excited about Engram given his current form, Look for him in the mid-tier of the TE2.
Week 12 vs. Baltimore Ravens
It was another quiet game for Evan Engram in Week 10, his second in a row after a steady run of form. Engram saw four targets and caught three of them, but managed a mere 14 yards. He has a combined four receptions for 22 yards over his last two games. Engram managed a mere 2.9 Half PPR points in Week 10 and finished as the TE28.
Engram might be able to return to something like his best form this week when the Jaguars take on the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens rank 21st in aFPA to tight ends and have allowed five receiving touchdowns to the position this season. But it's hard to get too excited about Engram, given his recent form, and with all 32 teams in action in Week 12, it's hard to project him as anything above a mid-tier TE2.
Week 10 at Kansas City Chiefs
Evan Engram was hampered by injury in Week 9, restricting him to just 55% of the Jaguars' offensive snaps. He drew two targets and caught one ball for eight yards. Engram is the TE13 in total Half PPR points in 2022, and the TE15 in points per game.
Assuming he is fit and ready to go, Engram should be able to resume fantasy relevance against the Chiefs in Week 10. The Chiefs are ranked 29th in aFPA to tight ends in 2022 and have allowed five receiving scores to the position. Engram should be viewed as a high-end TE2 in Week 10.
Week 9 vs. Las Vegas Raiders
Evan Engram had another steady game in Week 8, topped off with his first Jaguars touchdown against the Denver Broncos. Engram caught four of his six targets for 55 yards, his fourth straight game with at least four grabs and forty yards, and with his touchdown, Engram posted 13.5 Half-PPR points to finish as the TE4 for the week. Engram is the TE14 overall in 2022.
Engram is a solid top-12 option at tight end this week against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders rank 22nd in aFPA to the tight ends, and with Engram the only thing truly working in the Jaguars passing game he can be safely started this week if you need help at tight end.
Week 8 vs. Denver Broncos (London)
Evan Engram's solid, yet unspectacular, form continued in Week 7 against his old team. Engram saw seven targets, his third game in a row with at least six looks. He caught four balls for 67 yards, but none of his 28 receptions in 2022 have included a touchdown. It's beginning to look like he has an allergy to the end zone. Engram posted 8.7 Half PPR points in Week 7 and finished as the TE9. He's the overall TE19 in Half-PPR scoring.
Engram should be able to keep the good times rolling in Week 8 when the Jaguars take on the Denver Broncos in London. The Broncos are 14th in aFPA to tight ends in 2022. Assuming Engram continues to see his present workload, he has a good chance of remaining in the TE1 conversation in the week ahead. Just not THE TE1, unless he discovers the taste for touchdowns.
Week 7 vs New York Giants
Evan Engram posted a pretty typical Evan Engram stat line against the Colts in Week 6. He caught five of his six targets for 40 yards but is still waiting for his first touchdown as a Jaguar. Engram scored 6.5 Half-PPR points and finished as the TE20 in Week 6.
Revenge is in the air as Engram and the Jaguars take on the Giants, for whom Engram played 51 games and caught 262 balls for 2,828 yards and 16 touchdowns between 2017 and 2021. The Giants rank 25th in aFPA to tight ends this season, so Engram might be able to give them a reminder of what he is capable of this week. He should be a top-12 option this week.
Week 6 at Indianapolis Colts
Week 5 saw Evan Engram's best game as a member of the Jaguars so far. He caught six of his season-high ten targets for 69 yards, another high mark for the year. Engram didn't score a touchdown and is still waiting for his first score with the team. But he was able to post 9.9 Half-PPR points and finished as the TE8 in Week 5.
Engram could be in line for another decent week against a Colts team that has been quite generous toward tight ends in 2022. The Colts rank 25th in aFPA to tight ends. Engram is projected to post another top-12 performance this week and should be a viable streaming option at fantasy sports' most volatile position.
Week 5 vs Houston Texans
Evan Engram continued to show off his impressive catch rate in Week 4, catching 100% of his targets with a 16 yards per reception average. Unfortunately, he only saw one target, which he converted into 16 yards. Engram scored 2.1 Half PPR points, finishing as the TE50 for the week. For the season, Engram has caught 13 of his 16 targets for 99 scoreless yards.
It might not get much better for Engram in Week 5. The Houston Texans currently rank 16th in aFPA to tight ends. With the Texans being so generous towards running backs this season, the Jaguars may lean more on James Robinson and Travis Etienne on Sunday, leaving Engram on the outside in terms of opportunities. He should be viewed as a low-end TE2 for Week 5.
Week 4 at Philadelphia Eagles
Evan Engram was a footstep away from finishing Week 3 as a top ten tight end in fantasy terms. He caught just one of his three targets, with one of the targets coming in the end zone when Engram just couldn't quite get both feet down, finishing with just nine yards. Engram posted 3.8 Half-PPR points and a TE34 showing for the week. On the season, Engram has a 15.7% target share, with 12 receptions for 83 scoreless yards. He's the TE18 in Half-PPR formats.
Engram should be viewed as a mid-tier TE2 this week against the Eagles. The Eagles have not been as sturdy against tight ends as they have the wide receiver and currently rank 13th in aFPA to tight ends. But it's questionable whether Engram will see enough volume to make him fantasy viable this week, nor is it a safe bet he finds the end zone. He has just one touchdown grab in his last 11 regular season games going back to 2021.
