Week 3 vs. Detroit
Lacy had 12 carries for 50 yards last week and is averaging just 14 carries per game through two weeks. He also has just one reception. That's not good enough to be a No. 1 back. But, in his past two home games against Detroit, Lacy has 199 yards rushing. So there is some hope. At the least, he's a No. 2 RB this week with some upside.
Week 2 at Minnesota
Lacy had 14 carries for 61 yards and one catch for another 17 yards last week in a relatively quiet game. That was the bad news. The good is James Starks got just four carries. If that's the workload distribution going forward, that's music to the ears of Lacy owners, as better days will be ahead. Despite his struggles last season, he had 22 carries for 100 yards in a win at Minnesota. It was Lacy's fifth 100-yard game in his last six meetings with the Vikings. He's being a bit undervalued, so Lacy has some upside potential here.
Week 1 at Jacksonville
After a disappointing - to say the least, a trimmed-down Lacy will want to show he's ready to put 2015 behind him. Jacksonville's run defense was fifth in the league in 2015 allowing 3.7 yards per rushing attempt, but Lacy is the kind of grinder who could give Jacksonville, which allowed 13 rushing TDs to opposing running backs last season, problems. Lacy should be a borderline No. 1 starter this week, or, at the very least, a great No. 2 start.
2016 Fantasy Outlook
A first-round draft pick in many leagues last season. Lacy disappointed greatly as he ate his way onto the bench. Lacy finished with 758 yards on 187 carries and scored just three times, while sharing time with James Starks. Lacy also had just 20 receptions in his forgettable season. He has reportedly trimmed down and should be highly motivated heading into a contract year, and the return of Jordy Nelson should also back some defenders off the line of scrimmage. Despite his struggles last season, Lacy still averaged 4.1 yards per carry (the same as his first season in the league). He should bounce back this season with solid numbers, though Starks might have earned himself some playing time. Still, Lacy's ADP has him going in the second and third rounds, so he could be something of a bargain this year. Remember, he's still just 26 years old.
Week 19 at Arizona
Lacy had 12 carries for 63 yards and a score last week but failed to catch a pass and also lost a fumble. The time share with James Starks continues and the Packers could try to use their running game to keep Arizona's offense on the sideline. That might work for a while, but not forever. Lacy had 12 carries for 60 yards and a catch for a 28-yard TD just a few weeks ago when these two teams met in Arizona. But 13 touches, which is right around what Lacy has averaged over the past month isn't going to win you a fantasy matchup unless he scores once or twice. And that's a lot to count on.
Week 18 at Washington
Lacy had 13 carries last week for just 34 yards, just continuing his roller coaster ride of a season. He continues to deal with a rib injury but should play this weekend. The Redskins are 22nd against opposing running back in terms of fantasy points allowed. The Packers could have some success running the ball, but with Lacy in a timeshare, it's just not enough to make him a starter ahead of some better options this week.
Week 17 vs. Minnesota
Lacy is still dealing with a rib injury but did rush for 60 yards on 17 carries last week against a tough Arizona defense. He also caught one pass for 28 yards, scoring on the reception. Lacy had one of his three 100-yard games against Minnesota earlier this season, so there's some hope. But Minnesota is ninth in fantasy defenses against running backs, so don't automatically pencil Lacy in for another 100-yard effort this week, especially in his timeshare with James Starks. Starks, however, has fumbled in four consecutive games, so look for Lacy to get the bulk of the work.
Week 16 at Arizona
Lacy is dealing with a rib injury this week likely from the roller coaster ride his season has taken. Last week, it was 11 carries for 23 yards. Lacy is far from a sure thing in any given week, despite rushing for over 100 yards in three of the past five games. That's especially true playing against Arizona's solid run defense. The Cardinals have allowed 100 rushing yards to just one opponent's running backs this season, that all the way back in Week 4 against St. Louis.
Week 15 at Oakland
Lacy likely ran his way out of the doghouse last week by gaining 124 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. He now has three 100-yard games in the past four weeks, which sounds nice until you consider his one game when he wasn't over the century mark was a 4-yard effort. You can't afford that at this point in the season. But Oakland is 25th in points allowed to opposing running backs. Lacy will still share time with James Starks, but he should produce enough to be a solid No. 2 back this week.
Week 14 vs. Dallas
After back-to-back 100-yard games, Lacy reverted to previous form and had five carries for four yards last week in a limited role after reportedly missing curfew. Head coach Mike McCarthy is talking Lacy up this week, but it's looking more and more like a time share with James Starks in a situation where the team could ride the hot hand. That makes it tough to start either back against Dallas' 18th ranked fantasy RB defense.
