Zach Zenner

The short-handed Detroit Lions have lost yet another skill position player, this time fan favorite Zach Zenner.

The tailback took a vicious hit on a second-quarter run against the Chicago Bears on Sunday and returned to the locker room after a lengthy evaluation by a large group of doctors on the sideline. He has a chest injury, according to the Lions, although the radio broadcast said trainers were also looking at his back.

Zenner was running well before his exit, with three carries for 15 yards.

With Joique Bell already out due to a ankle/Achilles problems, the Lions are down to just Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick in the backfield. And Riddick is nursing a groin injury himself.
