Scouting report

by Scott Pagel

WAS RB Roy Helu - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 - Helu vs. Tampa Bay
Roy Helu had three carries for six yards but did catch four balls for 46 yards back in Week 9 when the Skins last played. He's been getting about seven touches a game since Week 4 but it's not enough for a play in typical leagues.

WAS RB Roy Helu - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 - Helu vs. Minnesota
Roy Helu carried five times for 29 yards, again averaging 5.8 yards a carry in limited work. He added two catches for 14 yards. He's only getting owners about 5-8 touches per game which just isn't enough for fantasy lineups.

WAS RB Roy Helu - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 - Helu vs. Dallas
Roy Helu carried five times for 29 yards and added three catches but for minus-nine yards.

Helu has a 5.36 yards per carry average this season but the team gave a vote of confidence to starter Alfred Morris, who continues to struggle. It's a tough matchup this week against a good Dallas D that's eighth in allowing fantasy points to RBs. Helu could be in line for a few more carries but is still risky to put in lineups. With a good chance Colt McCoy is under center, Dallas should be able to focus on stopping the run game.

WAS RB Roy Helu - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 - Helu vs. Tennessee
Roy Helu had five touches last week, rushing three times for 26 yards and catching two passes for 40 yards. His yards per play was impressive but five touches equates to a very risky start. Helu is only averaging just over six touches a game. He's a high upside handcuff.

WAS RB Roy Helu - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 - Helu vs. Arizona
Roy Helu had two rushes for minus-one yard but added five catches for 59 yards on seven targets last week. Outside deeper PPR formats, Helu remains a fantasy risk, even with back-to-back weeks of catching five balls and producing double-digit points in PPR leagues. He's averaged seven touches the last two weeks and outside of one game that's been about his average.

WAS RB Roy Helu - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 - Helu vs. Seattle
Roy Helu ran twice for eight yards but added five catches for 78 yards last week. It was by far his most productive fantasy game this season. That doesn't make him a safe play this week even though Washington could end up falling behind and playing catchup, creating more chances for Helu. Seattle is 16th in allowing fantasy points to backs but Helu should probably stay on your bench. His workload is inconsistent behind bell cow Alfred Morris.

WAS RB Roy Helu - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 - Helu vs. NY Giants
Helu had just two touches last week against the Eagles but made the most of them: one was a one-yard TD run while the other was a 55-yard reception. Two targets just isn't enough to warrant putting Helu in your lineup, even in PPR leagues. Washington just doesn't seem to be giving him a lot of looks as Helu is averaging just over 5 touches a game and playing on 34% of the snaps.
