Scouting report

MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Kansas City Chiefs

Raheem Mostert ran 13 times for 46 yards with a touchdown last week while seeing no targets. It wasn't a monster game from Mostert, but he was able to find the end zone for his league-leading 12th touchdown of the season. Mostert has scored at least once in six of his eight games so far this year, which has made him RB2 in fantasy. Mostert's production could dip a little this week, though, as he faces a tough matchup against the Chiefs who are 4th in aFPA to RBs. It's not an ideal matchup, but Mostert has been too good to really worry about that. He's still a strong RB1 play in Week 9 vs. Kansas City.

MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. New England Patriots

Raheem Mostert had one of his poorer showings so far this season last week as he ran for 45 yards and caught one pass for six yards with no touchdowns. Mostert still had a solid 5.0 ypc last week, he just only saw nine carries. It was also just Mostert's second time this season not scoring a touchdown in a game. This week, Mostert gets a decent matchup against the Patriots (16th aFPA). Mostert played New England back in Week 2 and finished with 121 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Mostert should be viewed as a top 10 option at RB in Week 8. Although he does have an ankle injury that will be worth monitoring as he missed practice on Wednesday.

MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Philadelphia Eagles

Raheem Mostert had another incredible outing last week as he ran for 115 yards, ran for two touchdowns and finished 3-17-1 as a receiver. Mostert has scored a league-leading 11 touchdowns through six games. In fact his nine rushing touchdowns are already a career high for Mostert in a single season. His production could slow down a bit this week though as he gets a tough matchup against the Eagles (6th aFPA). Philadelphia has allowed the third-fewest total rush yards to running backs this season. Even though it's not a great matchup, Mostert has been far too productive this year to worry. He should be viewed as a must-start option at RB in Week 7.

MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Carolina Panthers

Raheem Mostert had a down game in Week 4, but he bounced back in Week 5 with 78 total yards and a touchdown. Mostert lost a few touches to stellar rookie De'Von Achane in recent weeks, but Achane was placed on IR this week. Mostert should go back to seeing the bulk of the touches, but Jeff Wilson is expected to return this week. In their seven games together last season, Wilson out-touched Mostert 82-80 so it was a fairly split backfield. We'll see if that continues in Week 6 with Mostert being more productive and Wilson in his first game back (assuming he plays). We should also mention this is a favorable matchup against the Panthers who are 30th in aFPA to RBs. Given the matchup and Mostert's production so far this season, we like him as a strong RB1 option in Week 6.

MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. New York Giants

After dominating for the first three weeks of the season, Raheem Mostert cooled off in Week 4 against the Bills. He ran seven times for just nine yards, and caught three of his five targets for 36 yards. He also went scoreless for the first time this season. More notable, though, is he played fewer offensive snaps than De'Von Achane for the first time all season. Achane was in on 39 snaps (60%) while Mostert played 28 (43%). Achane also out-produced Mostert 120 yards to 45. Achane's takeover is concerning for Mostert owners, but we wouldn't fully hit the panic button. Mostert is still RB2 on the season and poor numbers in Week 4 came against a good Bills run defense. Things get easier this week against the Giants (20th aFPA) where we still like Mostert as a strong RB2 option.

MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Buffalo Bills

Raheem Mostert had a ridiculous game last week as he ran 13 times for 83 yards with three touchdowns on the ground. As a receiver, he caught seven passes for 60 yards with a touchdown. Mostert has now scored seven total touchdowns through the first three games of the season with an average of over 100 scrimmage yards per game. He's currently the RB1 in all scoring settings. His production could slow down a bit this week, though, as he faces a tough matchup against the Bills. Buffalo hasn't allowed a rushing or receiving touchdown to a running back so far this season. Although with Jeff Wilson still sidelined on IR, and with Mostert's production so far, the matchup doesn't concern us too much. Mostert should be viewed as a strong RB1 play in Week 4.

MIA RB Raheem Mostert - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs Denver Broncos

Raheem Mostert ran wild in Week 3 with 18 carries for 121 yards with two touchdowns. He also caught one pass for six yards. Mostert has shined in this backfield as Jeff Wilson Jr. continues to sit on IR. Miami also doesn't appear to fully trust rookie Devon Achane. So in the mean time, we'd expect Mostert to keep putting up solid numbers with a good chance of scoring a touchdown if Miami gets near the red zone. Mostert gets a solid matchup in Week 3, where we like him as a strong RB1. He should be viewed as a top 10 option at running back.
