TB RB Rachaad White - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Rachaad White ran the ball four times for 19 yards last week, and finished with three receptions for 24 yards on three targets. The Bucs really started getting White involved in the offense starting in Week 4 and since then he's averaged 7.4 touches per game for 39.2 yards. He's also acted as the team's kick returner, providing a small boost in leagues where that matters. This week, however, he'll draw a tough matchup against the Rams who have given up the 2nd-fewest average fantasy points to running backs. The Rams are top 10 in fewest rush yards, rush TDs, receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns allowed to running backs this season, and are even top five in most of those categories. White has some appeal as a flex play this week, but the tough matchup is concerning.

TB RB Rachaad White - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Rachaad White played a season-high 43% of the offensive snaps last week, finishing with seven total touches. He ran six times for 24 yards while catching one of his two targets for eight yards. He also returned two kickoffs for 46 yards. White has slowly become more involved in the Bucs' offense, averaging 7.5 touches over the past four games. But is that enough to make him someone you'd want to play in fantasy? Not likely. He's not a PPR specialist, and he's only scored once this season. He's not much more than a desperation flex play in Week 8.

TB RB Rachaad White - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Carolina Panthers

Last week Rachaad White ran four times for 12 yards, caught three of four targets for 11 yards and ran back two kickoffs for 54 yards. After not playing much through the first three games, White has found a solid role in Tampa Bay's last three outings. In his last three games, White has seen 13 targets with 12 carries on the ground. It's not quite enough to make him someone you want in your lineups, but it if anything happened to Fournette, White would be a sure-fire RB1 play. As for now, though, he's not much more than a desperation flex play.

TB RB Rachaad White - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Pittsburgh Steelers

Rachaad White is starting to see some more playing time as he's played on 38% and 39% of the offensive snaps over the last two games. That's a big increase considering he averaged just 16% of the snaps through the first three games. White's seen 16 touches in that span as well as he's being utilized a little more. Still, it's not quite enough to make him a playable option in fantasy. He's not much more than a desperation flex play in Week 6.

TB RB Rachaad White - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Atlanta Falcons

Rachaad White saw a big jump in playing time and touches last week. He played a season-high 38% of the offensive snaps while rushing three times for six yards and a touchdown, adding five receptions for 50 yards on five targets. He also added 51 kick return yards, which is notable in leagues where that applies. It was a nice game, but we'd like to see him have a consistent role before fully trusting him as a start. He might be worth a speculative add in deeper leagues, but as of now he's too risky to actually put in your lineups.

TB RB Rachaad White - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at New Orleans Saints

Rachaad White had eight touches (6 carries, 2 rec.) in Week 1 totaling 21 scrimmage yards. He played on 27% of the offensive snaps, but he was mostly used to close out the game late in the fourth quarter. In fact, five of his six carries were on the Bucs' final two drives of the game (not counting the victory formation drive). This is clearly Leonard Fournette's backfield, and it doesn't look like White will be on the field enough to provide value in fantasy. He can be avoided in Week 2.

TB RB Rachaad White - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Dallas Cowboys

Rachaad White earned the No. 2 job on the running back depth chart. It was expected, but you never know how teams will treat rookies. While the No. 2 job is nice, it didn't mean much last year when Ronald Jones had it. The Bucs also brought back Giovani Bernard who could have a small role. At this point in the season, it's unclear how exactly the Bucs will split up touches past Leonard Fournette. It's probably safe to keep White benched in Week 1.
