Scouting report

PHI RB Miles Sanders - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at New York Jets
Miles Sanders had 64 rushing yards last week but only on nine carries as he has been hobbled by a bad ankle. If he can play through it, he could have a good week as his backups Boston Scott and Jordan Howards are banged up. Sanders has been good when he is on the field with the exception of touchdowns. He has zero this season.

Sanders faces the Jets who are ranked dead last in the NFL in aFPA to running backs. If he gets the touches, he should have a good week, but that is still up in the air.

Because of the injury, Sanders ranks a low-end RB2 for Week 13.

PHI RB Miles Sanders - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at New York Giants

Miles Sanders returned after missing a month and jumped right on the Eagles' effective running game. He had 16 carries for 94 yards. He did not score a touchdown and did lose a fumble, but it was good for owners to see him get 16 touches. Sanders should remain the primary back and it will be a bonus if they get him involved in the passing game. He had zero targets last Sunday.

Sanders faces the Giants who are ranked 27th in aFPA to running backs. We expect the Eagles to continue with the run-first philosophy and Sanders should be the main player after QB Jalen Hurts.

Start Sanders as a low-end RB2 for Week 12. The matchup is a good one and the usage was very positive for Sanders in his return to the lineup.

PHI RB Miles Sanders - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Las Vegas
Miles Sanders only had 11 touches last week, down from the week before. Blame some of that on the Eagles' inefficiency on offense as they were taken away from their game plan early. Still, Sanders has not had very good fantasy numbers considering he is the Eagles' No. 1 back.

The matchup is favorable on Sunday as Philly visits Las Vegas. The Raiders are ranked 27th in aFPA to running backs so this might be the game Sanders gets on track.

Start Sanders as a solid RB2 for Week 7. This is where we expected him to be most of the season even when people were drafting him as an RB1.

PHI RB Miles Sanders - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Tampa Bay
Miles Sanders had 16 touches which is the highest total since Week 1. It produced 51 total yards and zero touchdowns. Sanders also played a season-high 75% of the snaps but his fantasy numbers didn't reflect that. Former coach Doug Pederson's offense focused on the running backs and tight ends, but it seems the receivers and quarterback have more value than before.

The Buccaneers come to Philly on Thursday night. Sanders faces a run defense that has been decent ranked 7th in aFPA to running backs.

The numbers haven't been there for Sanders in 2021 so far. He still has value because of the touches, but he only ranks an RB3 or flex for Week 6.

PHI RB Miles Sanders - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Carolina
Miles Sanders stock is dropping and if you thought he was going to be an RB1, you weren't paying attention to the preseason previews on this site. He has a total of 9 carries over the last two games, but don't expect the numbers to stay that low. He still is involved in the passing game and that helps in PPR leagues.

Sanders faces the Panthers who are ranked 2nd in aFPA to running backs. This is not a great matchup for Sanders to get back on track and if he is your best back, you better look elsewhere for some help.

Sanders only rates a low-end RB3 or Flex for Week 5. Recent stats and tough defense should limit him fantasy-wise.

PHI RB Miles Sanders - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Kansas City
In a game where the Eagles were playing from behind, Miles Sanders only carried the ball two times for 27 yards. He did have three catches for 28 yards. Philly needs to have one of their top playmakers have more than five touches in a game.

Sanders faces an average run-defense this Sunday at home. Kansas City is ranked 18th in aFPA to running backs. The bottom line here is he will produce if he is given the opportunity.

We hope the Eagles learned a lesson from last week and that carries over to Week 4. Start Sanders as a low-end RB2 against the Chiefs. They need to get him 15-18 touches to make him a quality fantasy starter.

PHI RB Miles Sanders - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Dallas
Miles Sanders' touches fell from 19 to 13 from Week 1 to Week 2. Owners were hoping to see 20+ for the Eagles running back but it hasn't happened yet. The production in the passing game took a dip last week for the whole team which affected Sanders. He has had 33 touches for 172 yards after two games which isn't awful, but if the touches go up, he will give you better results. He also has zero touchdowns this season.

Sanders faces Dallas who was 24th in aFPA to running backs last year. He only faced the Cowboys once last season and had limited success. Right now, the Cowboys' defense has still shown many flaws evident last season.

Start Sanders as solid RB2 for Week 3. If Philly gets him the ball more, he can have a big day, but until we see 20+ touches a game consistently, we will keep him on the second level of starting running backs in fantasy.
