Scouting report

KC QB Matt Moore - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Matt Moore looked fine filling in for Patrick Mahomes last week, finishing with 267 passing yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. With Kansas City's number of talented players on offense, Moore was able to finish with a solid fantasy outing. This week he faces a Vikings defense that's giving up 15.41 fantasy points to quarterbacks this season, and that's about what you can expect from Moore this week. He'll likely throw about 250-300 yards with a high chance of one to two touchdowns. He's a slightly below-average option, but not a terrible choice.

KC QB Matt Moore - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Green Bay Packers

Patrick Mahomes has been limited in practice this week, but it'd be surprising to see him return to the lineup so soon. We fully expect Matt Moore to start against the Packers. Moore looked decent last week during fill-in duty against Denver. He completed 10-of-19 passes for 117 yards with one touchdown and no turnovers. He gets a tough matchup in his first NFL start since 2017 as he faces the Packers who have allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks. Green Bay is giving up an average of 13.96 points to the position per week, so you can likely expect that type of production out of Moore. He's a below-average play in Mahomes' absence.

MIA QB Matt Moore - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Baltimore Ravens

The Dolphins have the fourth-lowest implied team total of Week 8, and the Ravens are top-10 in our aFPA vs. QB rankings. Starting Matt Moore is far too risky on Thursday night in any 1-QB format.

MIA QB Matt Moore - Week 18, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Wild Card Round at Pittsburgh
Matt Moore heads to Pittsburgh on Wild Card Weekend with the Dolphins as a 10-point underdog. Moore has averaged 224.7-2.7-1.0 through the air in three starts. That's more than 17 fantasy points per week but inflated by a four touchdown game against the lowly Jets. Against the Steelers in Week 6, Ryan Tannehill put up 252-0-0 through the air, despite Miami scoring 30 points. This is a team that wants to run first with Jay Ajayi. On Wild Card Weekend, there are better options than Matt Moore in your lineups.

MIA QB Matt Moore - Week 17, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. New England
The Dolphins have already locked up a playoff spot, but they said they are playing to win Week 17 against the Patriots. The problem is they are still playing the Patriots. Matt Moore is outside even our 2-QB league starting lineup considerations Week 17.

MIA QB Matt Moore - Week 16, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Buffalo
This is Week 16, the fantasy championship week for most. You are not starting Matt Moore in Buffalo, even after four touchdowns last week against the pathetic Jets secondary. Don't even think about it.

MIA QB Matt Moore - Week 15, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at New York Jets
Welcome to the Matt Moore show in Miami. Ryan Tannehill has a knee injury and is out for the season. The Dolphins play Saturday, and less is Moore for your fantasy lineup. Keep him out of them.
