Scouting report

OAK RB Marcel Reece - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 – Marcel Reece at Oakland Raiders
Marcel Reece is still in a secondary role in the Oakland backfield, but has gained in stature of late. While he is clearly playing behind Latavius Murray, he was more active than useless veterans Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew last Sunday, catching seven passes for 64 yards and a touchdown. If you are still playing in your league, Reece now merits a spot on your watch list, but is not a realistic option this week.

OAK RB Marcel Reece - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 – Marcel Reece vs. San Francisco 49ers

With Latavius Murray out of action in Week 13, it would have made sense to give Marcel Reece more carries. Common sense and the Oakland Raiders never cross paths, however, as Reece got fewer carries than decrepit veterans Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew. Marcel managed to catch six passes for 48 yards. Reece will be in the shadows again on Sunday with fantasy value nowhere to be found.

OAK RB Marcel Reece - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 – Marcel Reece at St. Louis Rams

With Latavius Murray knocked out of action, Darren McFadden struggling, and Maurice Jones-Drew having more issues justifying a roster spot, the Raiders finally turned to capable Marcel Reece to be their main back in the fourth quarter of their surprising victory over Kansas City. Reece produced 37 yards on eight carries and also caught one pass for eight yards. Murray is still suffering from the effects of the concussion and will not play in St. Louis. Owners need to keep tabs on the Oakland backfield situation all the way into Sunday morning. If news breaks that Reece will have a prime role, he is worth adding and starting as a flex if your options are limited.

OAK RB Marcel Reece - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 – Marcel Reece vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Marcel Reece caught two passes and received one carry in Week 11. The Raiders have not utilized Reece much in 2014 even though Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew’s best days are behind them. With Latavius Murray seemingly the next man up in the Oakland backfield, any hope for Reece’s outlook appears to be completely gone.

OAK RB Marcel Reece - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Marcel Reece at San Diego Chargers
Marcel Reece caught two passes and received one carry in Week 10. Unlike in previous years, the opportunities for a larger stage have not been there for Reece. He belongs on the waiver wire.

OAK RB Marcel Reece - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Marcel Reece vs. Denver Broncos
Marcel Reece rushed for 10 yards on one carry and caught one pass for 12 yards in Oakland’s 30-24 loss to Seattle. Marcel unequivocally has more to offer than Maurice Jones-Drew (and probably Darren McFadden) but the Raiders often frown upon players who have talent. That unfortunate trait will again keep Marcel off the fantasy map this weekend.

OAK RB Marcel Reece - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 – Marcel Reece at Seattle Seahawks
After sitting out Week 7, Marcel Reece returned to action last Sunday and caught five passes for 34 yards. He did not receive a carry. You have to wonder if he might get more opportunities in the future with Maurice Jones-Drew struggling, but the Raiders never seem to be inclined to use Marcel until they are utterly desperate.
