DET RB Kerryon Johnson - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Los Angeles Rams

After missing the Thanksgiving Day game versus the Bears with a knee injury, Kerryon Johnson is still questionable for Sunday. In five of the past six contests he’s played in, the rookie has totaled at least 85 yards and scored three of his four TDs during that span. The Rams allow nearly 120 yards per game on the ground, so be sure to monitor the injury report on his status and reinsert Johnson in your starting lineup if he’s active.

DET RB Kerryon Johnson - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Chicago Bears

Before leaving with a sprained knee injury last Sunday versus Carolina, Kerryon Johnson ran for 87 yards and a TD on 15 carries. He’s clearly become the Lions' workhorse, but with the short week, his status for the Thanksgiving game is in jeopardy. In the loss to the Bears a couple weeks ago, the rookie totaled 89 yards and two scores. If he’s able to play, Johnson should be considered an RB2 play versus a solid Chicago defense.

DET RB Kerryon Johnson - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Carolina Panthers

Even though the Lions were playing from behind for most of the contest last Sunday at Chicago, Kerryon Johnson turned in a solid fantasy performance. He ran for 51 yards and a TD and caught six passes for 38 yards and another score. It was the rookie’s first multi-touchdown performance and he’s now tied with Kenny Golladay and Theo Riddick for the team lead with 30 receptions on the season. Johnson is clearly the No. 1 RB for Detroit and should see plenty of touches this week at home versus a Carolina defense that has been pretty good at stopping the run. However, he should remain in your starting lineup.

DET RB Kerryon Johnson - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Chicago Bears

The entire Lions offense struggled last week in the loss to the Vikings, as Kerryon Johnson finished with 12 rushes for 37 yards and three receptions for seven more yards. While the rookie has run for a total of just 59 yards the past two weeks, he’s registered at least 14 touches in four straight. He will remain the featured back but has a tough matchup at Chicago against the No. 3 run defense. Johnson is more of an RB3/flex option.

DET RB Kerryon Johnson - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Minnesota Vikings

After the Lions fell behind by multiple scores in the loss to Seattle last week, the ground game became an afterthought. Kerryon Johnson led the team with just eight carries for 22 yards but he had a productive day as a pass catcher, snagging a career-high six passes for 69 yards. Even though he has just one TD on the season, the rookie has totaled at least 85 yards in three straight. The Vikings are No. 5 versus the run, so don’t expect a huge game out of Johnson in a tough environment to play.

DET RB Kerryon Johnson - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Seattle Seahawks
Aided by a 71-yard run, Kerryon Johnson rushed for a career-high 158 yards on 19 carries last Sunday in the win over the Dolphins. While he has been in the end zone just once during his rookie season, Johnson has been over the century mark twice the past four contests. LeGarrette Blount scored the Lions lone rushing TD at Miami from two yards out, and will likely continue to be utilized in short-yardage situations. Seattle is allowing 120 yards per game on the ground, making Johnson a RB2.

DET RB Kerryon Johnson - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Miami Dolphins

Two weeks ago, versus Green Bay, Kerryon Johnson led the team with 70 yards on 12 carries. In his first five games as a pro, he is averaging 71 scrimmage yards and has been the RB the Lions have been anticipating for several years. While he has just one TD so far, Johnson will continue to receive more playing time. The Dolphins are allowing 118 yards per game on the ground making the rookie an RB2 option.
