ARI WR KeeSean Johnson - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Carolina Panthers

KeeSean Johnson saw his snaps plummet from 76% in Week 1 to just 32% last week against the Ravens. Not only did Damiere Byrd out-snap him for WR3 work, Michael Crabtree saw the same percentage of snaps. Johnson got a lot of preseason buzz as a potential long-term starter, so he’s worth stashing in deep dynasty leagues, but he should probably remain on waivers in most league formats.

Week 2 at Baltimore Ravens

KeeSean Johnson had a nice start to his career with five catches and 46 yards. While not big numbers, he was targeted 10 times and seemed to clearly be the third receiver. If the team continues to fall behind early and throw the ball a ton as they did in Week 1 against Detroit, Johnson could benefit. Kyler Murray threw the ball 54 times against the Lions. This week, Johnson faces a tougher opponent in the Baltimore Ravens. Only the Bears allowed fewer points over the course of last season and the Dolphins looked like a high school team against them last week. Johnson is worth a speculative addition to deeper rosters but is probably better off on the bench this week in a tough matchup.

Week 1 vs. Detroit Lions

Despite being only a sixth-round pick, KeeSean Johnson got most of the preseason attention among the three receivers the Cardinals drafted in April. Johnson had 1,307 yards and eight touchdowns last season at Fresno State and he’s a physical receiver who flashes body control and the ability to wall off defenders. The Cardinals offense is hard to project, as they were awful last year but added a new coach and quarterback in the offseason. Johnson is worth keeping an eye on, but he’s too risky to roster in anything other than dynasty formats at this time.
