Scouting report

CHI RB Jeremy Langford - Week 17, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Detroit

Jeremy Langford finished with more touches than Matt Forte last week as he carried the ball 19 times for 83 yards. KaDeem Carey randomly came in and scored two touchdowns, which didn't benefit anyone.

At this point, Forte and Langford are 50-50 and produce similar stats. The only difference maker is which back will score a touchdown. Langford will be an RB2 option against a tough Lions rush defense.

CHI RB Jeremy Langford - Week 16, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Tampa Bay

Jeremy Langford finished with more rushing attempts (11) than Matt Forte (8) last week, and played just two less offensive snaps in the game. It's clear the Bears like him, and will continue to use him in their offense.

While Langford is nearly splitting the ball 50-50 with Forte, he's not putting up the same production. He'll get a tough matchup against the Bucs this week, and should be viewed as nothing more than a flex play.

CHI RB Jeremy Langford - Week 15, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Minnesota

Jeremy Langford earned himself touches when he had huge games in Matt Forte's absence, and he's continuing to see the field. In fact, last week he had more offensive snaps (31) than Forte (28) and more touches (14:11).

Part of Langford's increased production came down to game flow, but it's still a good sign for him that he's being so involved in the offense. Despite him having a larger role a week ago, we still view Forte as the back to own and start in Chicago. Langford is valuable, but only has a flex play against an injured Vikings defense.

CHI RB Jeremy Langford - Week 14, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Washington

Jeremy Langford proved himself as a worthy player when he replaced Matt Forte, and now that the Bears starter is back, Chicago has treated the rookie by giving him playing time. Langford had 14 touches last week for 68 total yards.

Langford won't see the ball enough to be an RB1 or RB2, but he can be a low-end flex option this week against Washington. It's not a stellar matchup, but he is capable of finding some rushing room.

CHI RB Jeremy Langford - Week 13, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. San Francisco
Jeremy Langford was still very productive last week even with Matt Forte returning to the lineup. The rookie back compiled 53 yards on 13 touches and scored a touchdown on the goal line. Forte played seven more snaps, but Langford still had a large role in the offense.

This week Langford will get a very favorable matchup against a poor 49ers rush defense. It will remain to be seen if he'll continue to receive a high volume of touches, and at this point we'll view him as a RB3 or flex option.

CHI RB Jeremy Langford - Week 12, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Green Bay
Jeremy Langford scored four touchdowns in three games while he replaced an injured Matt Forte. Now Forte is healthy and Langford's role becomes a question mark. He's certainly earned more playing time, but over Forte? In any case, this will be a tough matchup against a Packers defense that has shut running backs down in the last three games. Langford becomes a flex play this week with the hope being he and Forte split touches.

CHI RB Jeremy Langford - Week 11, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Denver

Since filling in for Matt Forte, Jeremy Langford has racked up 324 yards and three touchdowns in two games for Chicago. Those are insane numbers for a rookie who really didn't see much playing time before Forte's injury.

He'll face a Broncos defense this week that has a strong defense, but has allowed some success to running backs. Opposing backs have scored 11 total touchdowns against Denver, including in each of the last three consecutive games. We're not expecting Langford to put up numbers like he has in the last two weeks, but he should be a good option for owners. He'll be a low-end RB1 or high RB2 play.
